They are only not getting relegated because there are at least 3 very dog shit teams in the league. If it was remotely competitive then they'd be in real trouble. I mentioned it before when a poster still lived in an age where they felt United got every decision, that doesn't happen much anymore and I do think if that was the case in previous years (it probably was) then they have almost given up on them nowadays. As Scudamore said, the Premier League need a successful Manchester United. What good is a mid table Manchester United to them? They probably want them to go down for a year, come back up and then reignite the fanfare surrounding them.

I do understand the point, but ultimately if them or anyone else is shit enough to go down, then they will. If the claim is the league is trying to enforce their success, two titles in 12 years between them all suggests they are failing at that.......

I agreed with a poster the other day, plodding in 15th is almost as bad, if not worse than going down and it is fucking brilliant.

The prem are not trying to enforce their success, but they would definitely 100% do everything in their power to stop scum being relegated . It's hard to control the prem league when your not in it .

That being said, why this season, at their absolute worst and biggest risk ever of relegation (from the prem) have they had a few stinkers go against them? We shall see in the coming weeks but as I said, there are far shitter teams for it to even become a battle. If it did maybe we would see evidence of this apparent attempt to make sure they don't go down. As mentioned though, fuck them. Keep them in the league and being super shit.

That might have been me you agreed with.
I've long said, 3-4 years of being 15th is far better than an immediate relegation.
The media can only hype shite for so long. Neville and Keane can only attack a failing club for so long. Eventually, even the Singaporean rags start to get disillusioned and sponsors look for a better return.

That's when the death bell is rung. The money runs out, the stadium falls down and relegation is accepted without the 'we will return hype'.
As I've stated before, I was 16 when these fuckers went down. If Jesus had come back on Easter Monday 1975 no fucker would have known about it as this shower of shit were about to get promoted.
