Newcastle’s midfield is quite notorious for being high energy and constantly on top of you. Actual physical speed is just one side to a team being ‘quick’ IMO.
physical, high energy but not quick. Real midfield were both. dippers also both. certainly huge mismatch if we start any two with Nico, Gundo, Bernardo.
maybe Nico, Kova, KDB for thee weekend I dont know despite KDB's legs are gone too.

I seem to remember that a Porto fan posted on here before we bought him, said that he doubted whether he was good enough for us and in particular whether he had the engine to make it in the PL.
Good job he just fucking dominated one of the best midfields in the PL a few days ago then isn't it.

Fuck knows what people thought he could do this evening, having to cover the space of three players by himself whilst two OAP's offered fuck all support.

Christ, people are over the top in criticism tonight. He made a couple of mistakes on the ball but had so much space to cover and yes, he isn't as fast as Madrid's front fucking four.

Maybe in the transfer forum, people will now understand why I said I want 2 more CM/CDM type players rather than being obsessed with an attacker.

He and Rodri will need help next season.

Kova, Bernie, Gundogan, keep one of them, they don't have the legs to play 2 games in a week.

Heck, partner O Reilly with Nico if we have to. I'd much prefer that, to at the very least rest players like Gundogan.

Newcastle were well below par at the weekend.

Let’s see how he gets on against the dippers.

But there’s no denying how slow he is.

Newcastle below par or we just put together a fantastic performance?

Well at least your giving the lad a chance then, he has to prove himself against the most inform midfield in the country whilst in the most disjointed City team of the last decade.

My view on what I’ve seen so far is that he’s slow and doesn’t bring the athleticism which we need in our midfield.

You have a different view. That’s pretty much it.

Tbf, I don't think anyone was disagreeing, they were just saying they want Wirtz too, haha.

There are definitely people who think we should bin those 2 of these 3 (Which I agree with) and only bring in 1 more player and then Wirtz.

Its gotta be atleast 2 more before we think about Wirtz.

Baleba, Ederson, Zubimendi, Wharton, Reijnders etc there is a massive list of options (im sure I missed many).

Buying only 1 more is suicide.

Saying that Rodri isn't quick either.
He isn’t, but after all the problems we’ve had this season and with Guardiola constantly complaining about how we can’t compete with the physicality of other teams, I’m surprised we’ve gone ahead and bought someone who lacks pace and mobility.

Evident he has strengths and weaknesses. Luckily he strengths play to our preferred game plan, but he needs the legs around him to make up that pace. But I think my granny could win a foot race against him, and she's thirty years dead.

Nice to have someone who tried to recycle he ball forwards too. But too over eager on occasions tonight, but he is consistently telling other players where to be and that's refreshing. We need our best attackers in the other half of the pitch, and Nico seems ready to tell them to move up rather than go sideways.

Similar qualities to Rodri which is useful. He has the height.
