Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Put this season behind us Ageing players ,injuries havent helped.
Lets use remaining months to get new players bedded in players properly reco ered.
There will be transfers in and out.
We will be stronger by August and move up.
Nobody could hold there hand up after 6 out of 7 titles and say we would go on forever.
It had to come to a end but next season will be very different.

Heads up could be the 90s

Don’t think it was down to legs at all - it was effort & communication. Aké & Foden slow to react - no idea what Aké was doing ambling over and Foden was poor

On a bad night for us this is a stark reminder if one was needed what horrible cunts the rags are. Also stupid. Their worst team and season since 1974, in a Mickey mouse European competition just and still having the audacity to spit bile at us.

club world cup?.....may need passports.

I’m over 70…..seen games/trophies I never dreamed I’d see, been a privilege to have watched……

If we never get back to the very top again, I’m okay with that

You and countless thousands of loyal blues attending week in week out brother.

I haven't said anything uncomplimentary about them have I?? They are a very good side. The truth is though we did absolutely batter them two years ago. We were also the better team last season but went out on the lottery of penalties. The difference is no rag scum can poke fun at us given how garbage they are atm. Just a reminder of what they are....scum.Looks like you're a rag given how quickly you've jumped to their defence here.
Honestly, I'm not :-) I had to look at the PL table to console myself after the match

Not great but given the injuries it's understandable.

We lost the worlds best striker, the worlds best defensive midfielder and during the actual game our best defender.

Any team would struggle with that.

Added to this is some players who have clearly come to the end of their time with us. They've aged, there's no shame in this. It was one season too many. Given what they've won for us, I struggle with the mentality of some who abuse them and disrespect them.

We'll refresh in the summer, will have Rodri back and we'll be back next season.

Anyone abusing the players, going over the top and saying they're cowards can fuck off.

Bang out of order.
Needs banning.
Having shelled out lots of money and time to support City should not entitle you to behave like that…I mean Bernardo needs killing????!!
Do any of you know him? Is he a forum member? Never blocked anybody on any forum, but I don't want him cluttering up my screen

He said in his post match comments that the plan was to contain them for a while and stay in the tie. That went straight out of the window after they scored after four minutes, the goal one we seem to concede a lot, a simple long ball our defenders deal with abysmally. I've no idea why he went with those tactics when we never set up to defend and are awful trying to do it.
If that’s the case, why did we start with the slowest midfield going. His actions and his words make no fucking sense.

The only mercy is now that now we are out we won’t have to listen to that **** McMannaman commentating on our matches again this season . To hear that fucking hypocrite banging on about one of our forward players should be dropping back to help Khusanov boiled my piss. Did anybody ever see that **** drop back and help his defence - like fuck . ****

He did it once for us, Villa at home. Steve McPointy hjaha

Same as blue.
But I do think we will be back over the next couple of seasons
After waiting 35 years two ain't going to make any odds to me

I turned it off and went to bed as soon as the third went in, something I've never done before.

It's more than manner of conceding such poor goals.

Each one was avoidable just by closing down quicker or doing basic defending.

The new boys were left hung out to dry by Pep and those who can't raise a gallop.

My biggest issue this season has been Pep's reluctance to be decisive, whether it be with substitutions or tactics during difficult moments?

If the solution was just buying a new team, then Pep isn't the manager I thought he was?

We need fundamentals and that must start with defending and attacking corners, being much better off the ball and, certainly this season, passing it with confidence.
On Saturday the tactics seemed to be simplified but last night it seemed that Pep complicated things again and especially the front three didn't really know where they should be playing.

Only one of Gundogan, Kova, Silva or De Bruyne should ever be in the starting line up but due to the lack of recruitment and Peps lack of faith in the youngsters (O'Reilly) it meant that unfortunately he had to pick two of them for last night.

The reality is that it was men against boys.....at the very least Gundogan, Nico and Bernardo should have always been behind the ball to give the back four some kind of protection.

Even Real Madrid for all their flair have a physicality about them that we cannot compete with.
