Clearly showing he's a fair weather player. Looks great in a great team. Can't be trusted when shit hits the fan and you really need him. Needs dropping for the rest of this season so he can hopefully re-find some motivation and hunger for the next one. Start McAtee instead.

They do, he's doing his job, just nowhere near as well as he did in previous seasons.
nowhere near is an understatement. please don’t reply if you’re about to patronize me again, thanks in advance!

I’m saying create a little fire under Phil by benching him and giving McAtee a chance, possibly a run, as a starter with Phil coming off the bench…that’s all.

I feel like he’s got the point where he feels like he’s been so poor he is trying too hard to make something happen. Take him out of the firing line and let him put in 100% over 20-30mins for a few games. Maybe we will get our dynamic Phil back?!
I don't disagree, but McAtee isn't the answer for me, he looks out of his depth against the better teams, as I said earlier, here and at Sheffield.

Gundo maybe isn't worth playing, but Bernardo will at least do some of the dirty work to make up for not being good offensively and Grealish hasn't been nearly as poor as Foden has been.
Still need that extra bit although Grealish look briefly good vs Real Madrid he went off injured.

He couldn’t trap a bag of cement today, the ball just kept bouncing off him, and his passing sideways and backwards had no impact at all, saying all this we know how good Phil is and hopefully he’ll be back in the final 12 games.

Foden has gone he’s won everything a multi millionaire at 24, nothing he can’t buy. Not many players come back after they have peaked unless it’s at another club. CR Is the exception to the saying.

Don't think it's a lack of effort at all, he's been struggling with health issues off the pitch and we haven't really been good enough as a team for him to play as part of a settled system and get himself back fit. We know how special he is and we know he's one of our own - needs to improve his performances but definitely deserves more patience than some here are giving him.

Absolutely, I mean not once last season did he drag us up by our bootsraps and win the game for us when needed, did he????
He was gifted his awards because we're so loved as a club.
FFS!

We were a much better team last season than this one.

Live in the past all you want, just like Phil is obviously doing.

He'll comeback, hopefully next season, he's been poor this season, but to suggest that he's a fair weather player, based on this season alone, give your a head a wobble ffs!

We'll see. Let's see if he steps up while the team is in transition as I highly doubt we're going to suddenly be so much better next season unless we play a blinder in the transfer market.

I don't know what THE answer is but mcatee has been showing more in the minutes he's getting than Foden has and is currently a better option
I've seen nothing to suggest, other than a brief cameo against Newcastle this season, that McAtee could be the answer, he looks good against inferior opposition, but nothing more, I'd love him to be the answer, but I don't see it, that said Phil is way off it and we need to change things up, maybe Doku central with Marmoush, behind big Erl or something? I don't know, I'm not a World Class manager, Pep is and I hope he'll patch us up enough to get top 4 this season.

No argument from me on how crap he was today and Wednesday but I don’t think he’s been this bad the rest of the season, although clearly it’s not been a good one for the lad.

But I think Rashford comparisons or saying he should be sold are unfair and massively premature after he dragged us to the title last year and has been very good ever year before that.

Another season like this one and his value will plummet. He's hung on to De Bruyne’s coattails almost every season. As De Bruyne’s performance has declined, Foden’s inability to 'get hold' of or change a match has been exposed.

He's only as good as the players around him. He's not become the inspirational player many thought he would or could be. In reality, he's just another good player with a few tricks.

He's homegrown, so he gets an easy ride at City from fans and, I suspect, the coaching staff. It's too easy for him to become complacent.
