He played Bruno G off the park a week ago.You can't brush off his obvious deficiencies just by pointing out that a once in a generation special talent like Rodri isn't quick either.
Our midfield is criminally short on pace and physicality. I think most blues were hoping that if a midfielder did arrive in the window he would at a minimum possess those attributes. Instead we seem to have another snail like ball retention specialist to add to the half dozen other of those that we already have
He’s since played away in Madrid and Liverpool today. Quite the baptism of fire.
As others have said, he was our midfield today.
When our system isn’t working fluidly, our 6 looks slow and ponderous. It happened in Rodri’s first season, ironically mostly because we had no fit centre halves.
It’s folly to write Nico off yet. His potential showed against Newcastle.
