Well we have to agree to disagree, I really do think he was crucial to City plans this season, you only had to look at Peps face after revealing his injury, he was absolutely gutted. I’m not putting him in the same bracket as Rodri there different players, however imo both very important in opening up teams.
Where is he anyway ? I thought he was supposed to be back now ?

Tbh we’ve barely been able to field a fit 1st eleven, let alone affect the match from the bench.. Do you disagree? If so , maybe enlighten us
That may have been a factor at times this season, but recently it hasn’t been the case.

Doku was available on Wednesday, as was De Bruyne, but neither got a sniff, even for 10 minutes.

De Bruyne was knackered after 45 minutes today but stayed on until the game was effectively done.

His use of the bench hasn’t been good.

Another poor choice of tactics.

I hope he at least made sure the dippers dressing room was covered in an inch of ice cold water.

Just don’t get why Pep didnt try switching Doku and Savinho. On their right sides could have had more direct shots themselves after beating their respective full backs. Would have been better than crossing to the midfield who can’t keep up or the striker sat in the stands.

If we don't get top 4/5 I think Pep may walk at the end of the season. Injuries have obviously had a big impact, but his stubborn ess and reluctance not to change tactics and the way he sets the team up when we face an opponent that has the players to
expose our weaknesses is very frustrating. Personally, I still think we will finish in a CL position.
I’m very confident we’ll get champions league. I had today down as a loss but think we’ll put a run together soon and get 3rd

If we are putting all our faith in Oscar bobb he. We really are in trouble . This lad had hardly played and we don’t even know if he can sustain his form in a run of games . He could be the he next great player but he could also be just another academy kid time will tell but he shouldn’t be put on a pedestal already .
I’m not putting all my faith in OB, I was just mentioning to that blue how imo he was missed this season, we all have our opinions on players, it’s not to say I’m right and your wrong or vica versa, it’s opinions and how I think he was crucial and missed this season.

For as long as I've watched the beautiful game I judge a good team by two characteristics.

1.The ability to create chances.
2. The ability to prevent chances.

We do neither effectively anymore.
All we do is pass the ball sideways and backwards. It takes us 30 passes to get off a meaningful shot whereas our opponents open us up with 4-5 quick passes.

Doesn't matter how many new players we get in summer, if Pep doesn't change the way we play it'll be more of the same.

Mentioned it during the game and Guardiola acknowledged it after the game as well, we’re just moving the ball far too slowly when we’ve shifted the opposition’s balance to one side. The wingers did very well sucking Liverpool in, but then others failed in their roles. The passing intensity will have to improve next season, with players not allowed to take multiple touches or miscontrols, or we’ll simply struggle to improve, especially against better teams.

Moronic to think pep wants them to pass it slowly sideways and backwards. I mean you could see him gesticulating to the players for not playing it forward more quickly all game.

So they are not listening to him ?

I think there isnt enough consistency in rivals for CL places to have 3 of them on 65+ points so most likely 65-66 will be enough for at least 5th place which is 99.99% is a CL place.

if we still fuck up and come only 6 or 7th, not sure how Pep's ego is gonna take that. or Soriano looking at the balance sheet. its one thing Arse and dippers finish above us, but if all Chelsea, Villa, Newcastle or Bournemouth as well finish above us that would be extremely hard to take.

He literally said after Madrid

"Sometimes we play to fast, we want to go to the goal quicker, we have to take the extra touch, find another pass"

Why not Mwamba on the bench at least ? Even as an option. I rather he gave O'Reilly and Reis minutes with the game gone than Gundogan and Kovetic. Why bring Dias on if he's not fully fit with the game gone and risk further injury ?

He's lost the plot. Decisions are becoming stranger.

Glad Pep finally accepted we can't press and just sat off them. Compared to some games were were pretty solid defensively, we didn't get carved through 10+ times like we have done in most games this season.

I hope he sticks with it because the awful pressing is causing half of our problems.
