The Squad planning thread

No issues with that scale of a rebuild but Pep is going to have his work cut out keeping the departing players motivated. Maybe they’ve known for a while which might explain a few performances!

Surprising Nunes name wasn’t mentioned, he has had 2 minutes since the Arsenal rout and Lewis was preferred yesterday and when Stone got injured against Real at home. He hasn’t played in midfield since Palace away. Only reason he’ll stay is if we can’t get rid.

wow if this is true thats great as the serious rebuild needed is on the way if we push out 6-7 serious players.

but whats the chance we can replace all of them in one window?

also how much will they care of the rest of the season like if we can get CL or not, it will not matter them too much if they wont be here next year.
Don’t need 6-7 more like 4-5 which is more than possible considering we got 4 in January alone.
1 GK, RB, 2 CM and 1 AM as bonus if possible.
The spots of KDB and Grealish will hopefully be filled by 2 players already at the club.

Who at the club takes KDB's place?

We should not let KDB walk if he’s willing to take a pay cut as a sparingly used squad player. Let him come on for the last 30mins of games when we need a goal if need be.

Modric is still having an impact at Madrid. We just need to make sure we only keep 2 of Bernardo, KDB and Gundogan and only one is ever in the team at the same time.
Got to disagree mate. We cannot use a valuable squad place for Kev in the hope he regains a bit of form, even being used sparingly. Age has caught up with him, he's been the best but sadly it's his time to leave.

If we lose 6 or 7 we will probably only have 3 or 4 spaces to fill. Think 8 will go myself and 4 in.

Keep forgetting we have Bobb to come back yet as well and Pep loves him so hopefully he can stay injury free and get some serious game time next season and beyond.

We also have Callum Doyle and Maximo Perrone who we need to make decisions on.. i.e. are they good enough or not for the vital positions.

How does that make sense? We need bodies and quality otherwise we end up in exactly the same position as we are now

Trafford 40mil release clause
Huijsen 50mil release clause
Camara 50mil
Cambiasso 60mil
Wirtz 100mil+

300mil total but lots of outgoings, cuts to the wage bill etc. Can only see Wirtz being on big wages.

Trafford
Cambiasso Khusanov Huijsen Gvardiol
Camara Gonzalez
Foden Wirtz Savinho
Haaland

That’s an incredibly strong first XI of players 25 and younger. Still have Rodri, Dias, Marmoush and whoever Pep wants to keep.

Because including Echeverri and Reis we are 2 over the 17 allowed, my guess KDB and Gundogan make way, added to Walker and Phillips thats 4 out before we even start, then it’s one out for one in.
i reckon Walker, phillips, Gundogan , KDB , Nunes, Ederson Kovacic leave which leaves room for 3 in.
Might be a couple more out and in on top of that.

What are we going to go about the goalie situation? Edersons probably off, who is decent and available? Who's likely to tick the boxes?

We need a midfielder who will play the ball through to Haaland and Marmoush. Immediately. Head up, ball through or over the top. Teams will stop all of this pushing up against us as soon as that ball in behind starts being played routinely
Yes we do, but the same midfielders needs other qualities, for when that happens and teams return to sitting deep with a bank of 5 and a bank of 4.

Who!? Swear theres a new player i’ve never heard of everytime i come on the transfer forum

If you include Phillips and walker I think 6 will be gone 100%. Smaller chance 7 or 8 will be gone. Gundogan, KDB, Ederson and one of the CBs will be gone imo. With a few from bernardo, kovacic, mcatee, nunes, grealish going if suitable offers come in.
