Next season 25/26

My main worry is will City and the players have the correct recovery time ? Will the new players have time to 'get' Pep ?

I think from the end of the club world cup to the start of the season is only 4 weeks.
You reckon we’ll reach the final?

It is what it is. I’m glad we’re in it. It’s a prestigious event, chance for another trophy, and a good earner. I know what you mean, but the players have to have 3 weeks off min. Let’s look on the bright side; we might get chance to see a few youngsters in our first couple of PL games.

Our biggest problem is gonna be those we want out still in contract.
Walker is stinking the place out in Milan so he will be back.
Grealish on £300k per week is going nowhere on a permanent deal.
Perma crock John Stones with 11 appearances this season and out till the summer on the best part of £200k pw etc etc.

If those plus the others are still in contract they will go on loan with us paying a big chunk of wages.

Gonna be very messy.
Going to be tricky find suitors for sure, who the fuck is going to want grealish we will be lucky to get 25 mil for him cant believe we paid 100 mil. Villa won't be wanting him back that's for sure.

.......is he? i don't think he is

For me the players that start in the first team 11 next season out of the ones here are?

-------Ederson----------

?--------Khusonov---Dias/Akanji------Gvardiol

Rodri-----Gonzales

Foden-------? ---------?

---------Haaland-------

However I doubt Ederson will be here.....

Doku and Sav will play big parts but automatic starters in our strongest 11 Im not sure...same could be said of Akanji as well

I would hope that Savinho and Marmoush continue to improve throughout this season. From what we've seen of them already, the potential for both of them is so high, i'm excited to see them grow!
They're both in my first team now even with Stones, Rodri and Haaland back.

Imagine if all our players we have now were fit and in form, the only player we really need to become the top team again, is a right back.

oops forgot Marmoush tbh

yes he does look exciting, but i think he does need to take a step up...although ew have only seen him a little...he didnt perform well vs Madrid and was very innafectve vs Liverpool. He wasnt good in the build up at all and he gave the ball away in simple situations a number of times.....But tbf to him he has only just joined and into a team that is struggling so hopefully he can and will progress.
Sav -lots to be excited about I agree BUT he needs to go from that exciting prospect with lots of flair to being a killer....same with players like Bobb, Duku etc....all incredibly gifted but are they going to be absolute ruthless killers like David Silva, Bernardo Silva Yaya, Kompany, Zaba, Ferna, Sergio etc etc.....for me the difference is in personality and not technical ability but it does make a difference...KDB...seems a nice guy but on the pitch he was ruthless when at his best and all the others were as well.....Sav and the other young lads need to develop this.

Predicting it now - We will be awarded an extra point after the charges are dropped and win all 38 games and end up with 115 points...

Early to say but I’m not so sure Gonzales will be in our strongest 11, although I expect Mahmoush will be.

Did you read Pep's comments? You should.

Savinho and Echeverri are potentially world class players. Doku also can develop. He's 22. Do you remember Salah at 22. I do. Or I remember watching him playing for a Swiss side in European games. He was amazing and awful at the same time. Just like Doku.

Depends how we use the CWC and whether we try to play any other pre season games.
Ideally we have a couple of weeks off, use the CWC as a pre season, maybe another 2 week break then the 2 weeks before the season working on fitness but also working with the new players on tactics .
We might not do that but I’m sure we can work it so it isn’t detrimental. Plus we get an earlier window to get the new players in before it starts if we get a move on.
What we shouldn't do is take any players we think really need a long break.
If we make top 4/5 with a couple of weeks of the season to go, I would put the fisrt team squad on leave. Take any Premier League fine and bollocks to them. The Prem won't give us a break after the club world cup, so if possible I would give the players a break before the end of the season. Obviously if we are still in the FA cup the plan would need to change.

absolutely agree they can develop.

Im just saying at present (and Doku has been our best attacking player in the last few games) that they all have a long way to go before they are definite starters and consistent enough and at that level to build a team around to challenge for the title and CL.
Savihno has amzing individual skill but his finishing is pretty poor at present -that is a key area he has to improve on. Also defensively (without the ball) he is found wanting

With Doku everyone knows about his individual brilliance one on one..I do think with him its just regular game time needed but he also needs to add more goals and assists and defensive work

Echeverri is a complete unknown - its great playing against other 18, 19 year old kids in tournament but its completely different coming up against the best defenders and midfielders in the world in the prem - he looks really exciting and he clearly has that Argentinian fight and determination in his play which are all huge pluses but we have seen so many wonderkids come into the prem and just fade into obscurity....he is a project for the moment and time will tell - but he looks extremely exciting and the one advantage of how our season has gone so far is that we may get to see a Echeverri in some games as a sub here and there at home if we are winning.

I actually think the opposiete

I think alongside Rodri we will have a very strong and physical and technical midfield

Marmoush has shown glimpses but is a bit hit and miss at the moment...great against Newcastle but also non existent against Madrid and Liverpool.

Tottenham on Wednesday is our final midweek game of the season. After that we are pretty much in pre-season for next season. We can have proper training sessions working on tactics, new ideas, integrating the young lads and the new lads, getting the best out of what we have now for consecutive days for the first time in ages, and just play games at weekends only.

We’ve had that many players out injured for long spells this season that none of them need any more rest than they’ve already had, so for them, the one game a week we’re going to have through March, April and May and then then Club World Cup in June and July is ideal to get those players back to full fitness.

Bobb missed 42 games all comps / 27 PL
Rodri 39 all / 25 PL
Aké 24 all / 17 PL
DeBruyne 24 all / 9 PL
Stones 22 all / 16 PL
Doku 18 all / 10 PL
Dias 17 all / 12 PL
Grealish 17 all / 11 PL
Ederson 14 all / 10 PL
Akanji 12 all / 7 PL
Foden 8 all / 6 PL
(+Foden only started 2 of our first 10 games due to illness. He played: 45’ 0’ 0’ 0’ 45’ 20’ 24’ 78’ 78’ 24’ to start the season, and missed four games in November/December, and was miles off it throughout the entire time. I don’t think it’s rest he needs, it’s games).

The worries are burn out for players like Gvardiol and Haaland who seem to play every game (until Haaland in the last week). Maybe they’re the ones who can start getting rotated and rested between now and the Club World Cup?

Then, with a few more additions in the Summer, we’ll be more ready to get into next season than we would be if we were in all four competitions still now struggling with all our injuries.
I said as soon as we went out the chumps league to RM that it may well, ultimately, prove to be a blessing in disguise. Let's be honest, we were never going to win it this year so we may as well have gone out early. I think the reduction in mid-week games gives us an edge to come out the blocks next season and blow them all out of the water !
