Nope, its exactly about a reduction in taxes....for the top 1%. His 2017 tax cut needs renewing and they need some money to offset the loss.

Parks is an interesting ‘save’. Several will be shut. Good move, Elon.
They will save plenty of Social Security budget by sacking the staff who prepare the payments. They will save money in the DoJ by sacking lawyers not considered loyal. DoJ already telling a judge that they can’t answer questions because they are short staffed. Good move Elon. They will save billions in USAID by witholding food and medicine from poor people. A few hundred or thousands will die. Good move, Elon. Of course, they will save billions by not supplying military equipment to Ukraine. Oh, if you want to hack US critical systems go right ahead, they will save millions by not trying to block the hackers.
Every Elon move just brilliant. What a star he would be if he was in charge of Doge, but they have told a court he is not. Some obscure clerk was put in charge, apparently, when she was out of the country. First she had heard of it.

The society (and people) that rely on those taxes???

Or, let’s carry your thought experiment to its conclusion…

Let’s get rid of all taxes.

Result?

How high is unemployment?

Who defends the country?

Who ensures food is safe?

Who ensures water is safe?

Who fixes the water main burst in front of your house? Hell, who delivers the water to your house and carries the shit away from your house?

And, who does what with the tens of millions of people who are now old and destitute, with no ability to feed, clothe or maintain their health?

Taxes are a really bad thing until you remove them and realize what you lost!

NOW…creating a fairer society and using taxes wisely? ALL FOR IT!!

Giving corporations and billionaires another tax break and increasing the national debt by $5-14 TRILLION? Hmmm, doesn’t seem like that’s a good thing, but that’s just me.

One day, if the rest of the world decides it doesn’t want to buy US Treasuries in just ONE Treasury auction, the world as we know it changes in ways you can only imagine.

The entire American house of cards is built on OUTSIDERS relying on the safety of the dollar. Remove that and it ALL comes crashing down!

It’s not “cost cutting,” it’s shifting cost away from the places they don’t want to pay the cost.

Inflows & outflows.
Inflows = taxes
Outflows = Govt Spending

When inflows don’t equal or exceed outflows, you get debt.

Americans seem to think they can have ALL THE OUTFLOWS, but get rid of THEIR SHARE of the inflows.

The current right wing brain trust says, we will cut the already small inflows from billionaires and corporations and to balance that out we will cut government departments and services, including 40% of the military!

This in a country that hadn’t shown any indication it knows how to do any of the above since Clinton balanced the budget and ran a surplus in the 1990s.

Conservative estimates suggest the current “tax efficiency drive” will add over $10 TRILLION to the National Debt. That’ll add another $400 BILLION PER YEAR to the debt payments of the USA…which are supposed to be paid by…wait for it…taxes!!!

We are WIMPY and we just have a hankering for more hamburgers, please! Tuesday will be here in no time…honest!
