North Stand Construction Discussion

As I'm of an era where the matchday experience involved getting pissed in the sherwood then avoiding dog shit and away fans in the alleys around maine road I do feel abit uncomfortable with what's going on in modern football . But have to accept if we want to stay on top these are the things we need to do like turning the area in all year round, revenue grabbing entertainment centre. which non of our rivals can do.

However with all the stuff that they are doing it really irritates me and Im getting stressed just thinking about it. Why does the hotel have 401 rooms? can't they knock two together and have 400. how are sufferers of Imparnumerophbia going to enjoy there matchday experience with that looming large at the back of their minds

Not a patch on the Umbro stand.

You could see Swales’ ambition with that stand - could literally taste it in fact - but this 401 room hotel, lodged between our 62,000 capacity stadium and the UK’s best and largest indoor arena, simply fails to inspire.
 
Question re the cable net.

Once north stand is complete the cable net will only be required for Colin Bell and East Stand roofs.

There are four anchor points above each spiral on both sides of the ground.

Therefore, could you not tie a new cable from each of those four anchor points on the east side to hold up the roof?

Then do the same with the four anchor points on the Colin Bell side.

Essentially it works the same way as the two big anchor points currently being constructed to hold up the new north stand roof.

Each stand roof would then be held up by its own cables. Meaning you could do away with the cable net and it would also allow for easier expansion of East or Colin Bell if/when that ever is needed.

There are variations in the hotel room designs, but these a 2 examples of Radisson Blu hotel rooms.

One in London, and one in Edinbrugh.

City will have their own room designs.

I'm sure some of the rooms will be City themed rooms, like the 93:20 room, the Treble room, the 4 (PL titles) in a row room, the 100 (points) room, the Manchester United toilet, etc.

No, the cable net forms a complete tension ring, so you can't just remove a chunk. It's there to stay until or if they replace E & W stand roofs.

I don’t mean removing a chunk - I’m talking about removing it completely.

The north stand roof will be held up by the two big new quad pods independently of the cable net.

Why can’t the existing 8 spirals be used in the same way so that there are additional new wires attached that hold the east and west roofs up independently of the other stands…

Wonder if they’ll change names/themes of the more expensive rooms between games/concerts, there’s gonna be a helluva lot more using it for things other than the football
