PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Ok - be happy. Hope you enjoyed the last 8 years. I certainly did. Istanbul was something to treasure despite UEFA’s poor organisation. City fans were superb

Great achievements by the players & club especially the treble & 4 in a row.
Great times & I’ve loved the ride. Still am.

You can enjoy them but still criticise the club mate, also wouldn't it be nice for people they have priced out to enjoy it too?

When is the announcement due?

Not that we have been found innocent. I mean the announcement from the rest of the footballing world when we are, that we have...

"Gotten away with it"
"Paid somebody off"
"They can do what they want"
"The rules don't apply to City"
"Football is finished"
"I want my ball back"

It will follow i assure you. I understand it from rival fans. But the sporting press will be at it.
The salty tears will be like a tsunami. Fuck em!

We get found guilty of none cooperating the headline and first the headline will be Man City Guilty then underneath that in smaller writing will be for none cooperating charge then go on about why was Man City not cooperating? What they hiding and all the other media will do the same!

City rip us off, whilst we know why they could build better relationships with the fans by not ripping us off as often as they do.
All the Premier League clubs rip their supporters off, doesn't make it right, but they all rip their fans off. It could be worse we could be paying season ticket prices like Arsenal and Spurs.

Inevitable.
We actually had a taste of how it's likely to pan out again(given were cleared of the substantial stuff),after the Cas verdict last time.

We could also be earning London wages.

I really doubt anyone has been briefed. Just senior producers asking junior producers to make sure they have voices to speak when it drops. Pep himself has indicated he believes it is imminent so hardly a surprise the BBC and ITV are working on that basis.

There's a whole lot of speculation in this thread and a lot of it is wide of the mark. I don't know a lot of what is being planned in terms of coverage, but having worked for the BBC for about seven or eight years and having been on a lot of different programmes as a guest from the podcast, I can at least talk about the 'process'.

The above quote is exactly it.

When you're working on a news programme or a talk radio station, you have several types of story -- sometimes you know something's going to happen and roughly what's going to happen when it does. Take something like the Budget. We know exactly when it's going to happen and roughly what's going to be in it, so we can start lining guests up accordingly beforehand. The last thing you want is a lot of airtime to fill and nobody available to do any analysis.

With the charges, I can only speak for my experience at 5 Live, but... nobody knows what the outcome is, nobody knows when the verdict will be delivered, but what we do know is that there will be a full day of programmes that will need to cover the story and they're going to need guests. They're going to need reaction from fans, journalists, financial experts, former players... The beauty of a story like this is that it doesn't actually matter what the outcome is because the guests will still be the same type of guests -- because everyone is reacting to whatever the outcome is.

From the timescales that were spoken about previously, from the comments Guardiola has made about a verdict likely to come soon, this is all just media outlets planning for when it happens. It's not unreasonable for BBC, ITV, and everyone else firing out emails, messages and calls along the lines of: "Hi, when the verdict is announced, whatever day it is, can we give you a call to get you on air for your reaction please? What's the best number to get you on? What type of times are you generally available on weekdays or can we just try you as soon as possible?"

In this instance, if an emailer says they've been 'briefed', it's more than likely nothing to do with the outcome. They've not been briefed on the story by someone outside of the organisation, but briefed by people inside the organisation about the logistics of covering the story.

I actually love that we're doing all of it as it shows how much we want to dominate for years to come.

I do hate though that it feels like we 'have' to do it, to maximise revenue, advertising, publicity and anything else we can think of.
Can't argue with that, the present is moving on whether we like it or not.

Ahh, Radio 5 Live, the dumbed down version of Radio 4 :-)

I speak for me, I tend not to speak for other people. Again, without the fans the club is nothing if you can't figure that out? well..
I think we can all remember when there were calls to "free the 30 000" which suggest that we were a lot less happy with the club then than we are now. So I think we need a little more detail about how exactly football is being "throttled" and what exactly is wrong with our club, which seems to have been doing quite well in recent times. We all have our gripes about ownership but rather less so today than in times past. And if you've only had 30 years of it you're a novice: plenty will remember when it was the Manchester 8 000 who needed liberating and when the hammers flew at the manager's head. Fings ain't what they used to be - thank God. What it is to have a four star hotel to moan about!

What?? I didn't realise it was only a four-star?!
