I think they were the group mentioned a few weeks ago and the overwhelming view was to keep politics / political affiliations out of our Club.

not really as these groups exist across europe so isn't uncommon and it lends another voice to the city fans.

If it isn't your cup of tea then you need not bother with it, similar those no wanting to be part of an OSC, Canal street blues or the 1894 or the various other fan groups.

That isn't entirely true though is it, a thread was started (by myself) highlighting them if anyone was interested and it garnerned many responses in support and also some with the view you mention.
It had to be pulled because the usual cranks off the sub forum turned it into a tit for tat left v right slanging match of childish proportions as per usual and ruined the choice for people to know it existed.

It was pulled and I was asked if i wanted it reinstated and I said no as some people here are not mature (or as most ar FoCs too stubborn) enough to debate like adults and are also too insular in their views to allow threads they don't lime to be allowed withput turning into to a farce

Anyway it isn't important, they exist , they have members if you don't like them don't join it's that simple
The good thing is there are many fans groups and all are mainly united in their support for the CM reps, in the future if they can continue towork together hopefully supporters will get the represemtation rhey deserve on a united front

Why don’t you tell us more about the group then. I’m open minded if they do really good things.

Yes most people who commented didn’t want political affiliations mixed up with our great club.

You would have to ask the people running it, I know as much as anyone else I was just passing on information for the benefit of other blues, I am not actively involved perssonally, I do know they had a meeting before the liverpool game, I wasn't there though.

Hello. I'm part of Trade Union Blues. The purpose broadly is to ensure a voice for working people at City. We are all trade union members as are many other City fans. In fact just under 1 in 4 people in Britain are in a union.

Trade unions are there as mass organisations of working people to advance their interests. And what issues do we face? Low wages, spiralling costs of goods and services (including costs of watching football). There is no worker / working class representation through the official channels for example on City Matters. This is not to say some of the reps there are not trying to take issues on board btw but there is no official voice there.

The other thing is to look over at Old Trafford and see how Ratcliffe is shafting long-serving employees to penny pinch. We don't want to see that happen at City.

We are a democratic organisation with an elected committee, just like the unions we are all members of. Anyone who is a union member and a City fan is welcome to join.

The rest of the outfit at executive level, fantastic. Soriano? Gotten away with so many damaging policies that are going to affect our generational support. Wonder if we'll see empty seats today.

I remember City were one of the last clubs to implement the Living Wage policy (after covid lockdown in fact!) which was a shame it had taken so long as its an easy win really, at little cost.

I do hope your group will be advocating for better treatment of workers at the club itself, those of us with friends and family working there know that things could be better. Don't want to end up like them Trafford bastards.

What you've said sounds positive though, wish you all the best as a new supporter group.

I’m not in a Trade Union myself but I fully understand why unions exist and I’ve no issue with the Trade Union Blues group as no doubt they can bring different ideas to the table regarding fan campaigns, etc. I think it’s some of the outsiders who tried to make it into a political issue on here the other week when at the end of the day what connects us all is that we’re City fans first and foremost.

This isn't technically correct. City had a Living Wage policy for many years before Covid including all of their staff.

Here is the confusion. There is a company called the Living Wage Foundation who you can pay to "accredit" you as a Living Wage employer. They require a bunch of steps in terms of how subcontractor staff and others are paid. City already had agreements with subcontractors, including the regional agreements that required City to use local companies in the construction of the ground and training centres and offices. City couldn't force these contracts to pay their staff the Living Wage across the board. Hence they were not certified. However all direct employees of City had been getting paid the Living Wage for years even without this accreditation and every contract renegotiation that didn't require the locality clause included a Living Wage from subcontractors.

I've actually posted about this a few times. The Living Wage thing is a bit of a scam, as the companies who charge for the accreditation will basically tell the world that you refused to pay the Living Wage if you don't buy into their programme no matter what you pay. They claim to be the arbiters of this.

Ridiculous pricing today. So many seats available and the club have the audacity to say it's COMMUNITY DAY when a family of 4 would need to spend circa £250 to attend today's game. Yet the club will rather leave that seat empty. The points I accrued over 10 years as ex season ticket holder mean jack. I need a membership EVERY SEASON to prove I'm a City fan.

tbf I have been away in europe on weekends and took in a local game.

A benfica fan getting a ticket to watch city if he is on holiday is different to an away fan for that game being in the home end
