the amount of shit Sterling got over the years and he scored 130 (?) goals and 50-60 assists for City over 7 seasons.

I think if Savinho and Doku both stay 7 years at City which is unlikely they still wont get that output combined together.
Bingo.

How is that revisionism? Those are literally the numbers Raheem put up for us; he was brilliant.

Doku and Savinho couldn't dream of hitting those numbers.
Sterling also missed a ton of sitters and had shit performances. He played in one of the greatest club side we have ever seen, I'd hope he would put up numbers like that in his prime.

Doku needs to up his endproduct - how about crossing off the ground for example... where haaland can get his head on it - apart from the final cross/pass I felt he played OK today - it was just that there was never any positive result from when he attempted a cross..

He also scored a shit load for us. In the case of weighing his good against his bad, his good comes out on top. Doku isn't missing a shit load because he doesn't have the nous to get in those positions the way Sterling did.

I've seen enough of Doku to know he'll never reach a tenth of the heights Sterling reached for us.

Are we really comparing Sterling and Doku, lol.

When we turned to Raheem, 9 times out of 10 he dug us out of the shit. You could put together an almighty highlights reel based on the wonderful things he did in a City shirt.

When we turn to Doku he hits the shins of the defender at the front post.

I don't think the first bit is nonsense, sadly.
“Just crap” is someone who does nothing imo. He at least plays on the front foot and beats his man regularly, gets people off their seats. End product obviously needs to improve, but this team is worse without him.

Doku and Sterling shouldn't be in the same sentence.

Worlds apart.

Just crap isnt he. He cost the same as the entire Brighton squad btw. Quality dribbler but means fuck all when he’s that shit at the final third.

A world class winger is another priority in the summer…

He didn't cost as much as the whole Brighton squad. Rutter and Gomez alone cost them what we paid for Doku. Brighton spend plenty.

The thing is, if we're quantifying something as scoring or assisting, then he's really doing nothing at the moment. He gets people off their seats, but then so does Adama Traore; he can't just be an "entertainer" if he wants to make it here. And of course, we could say the same about Savs and several of our other lads.

You may be right, but I just don't see it with him. Would happily be proven wrong.

Watched that Juve game at the Allianz a while ago. Two moments when Doku broke free on the left side:

Messi, Ronaldinho and Zidane wouldn't be able to pick out a teammate here. Its on Jeremy that he doesn't see that and doesn't take a shot from here, but its insane how much of a difference this (getting a player to make a timely run to the near post) would make and Pep still hasn't corrected it.

Doku gets the one two from KDB, and this is the step before the pass (when you obviously have your eyes on the ball). Doku notices in the previous half a second that Haaland is hanging on the back post as usual and sends a good ball there, but Haaland this time decides to start making a run to the near post a split second before Doku releases the cross.

Thats not to say Doku doesn't make bad decisions often. But the majority of the issues they have with Haaland, is honestly on Haaland.

Doku was brilliant today, but some of the runs by his team mates were very poor which made it very difficult for him to pick out a man when he was near the box. Even Haaland's runs into the box were suspect. Perhaps Brighton defended well, but Doku was not the problem today. He put in a shift and a half.

Honestly don’t know how anyone can watch this, and think Doku is the problem.

He wasn’t. Look at that passage of play when he gets wrongly booked. No fucker is anywhere near the box other than Haaland. We have much bigger issues than him. At least 8 bigger issues.

He is getting the blame for today yet the defending was once again completely shambolic, the midfield was slow as fuck and 2 of other 3 forwards did nothing all game.

Savinho on the other hand was awful.

Add Davies overlapping and today we would have won 6-2.
