Missed the cup game but just watched the extended highlights.
Newcastle were deserving winners.
Liverpool look gassed.
If Arse were not so pathetic, they'd be a battle for the top spot.

Be interesting to see how good Slot is, he has had it piss easy so far. No pressure, than within a few days he has gone from the quad, treble, double to one !

I said something along the lines of this months ago, Liverpool fans and TV Pundits saying "This Slot team has more to it than Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool team, It's more efficient and adaptable".

Complete bollocks.

Typical jumping the gun from Pundits and Fans and sums up "modern fans", Klopps Liverpool team was by far better than this Slot Liverpool team, Not even close in my opinion. Klopp got then twats back challenging for everything when they were doing sweet fuck all before him, Plus his teams were relentless, As much as I can't stand the **** he made Manchester City better same way we made Liverpool better because we set the standard so high there was no margin for error.

Liverpool will win the league and deservedly so, Can't get away from the fact they've been the best team this season although it also has to said that they've had absolutely nobody to challenge them.

Jury is still out on Slot.

100%. I said this somewhere else on here, that the side with Firmino, Mane and Henderson (yes; seriously) was a better side than this one. The current lot are being carried by one man.

And neither of them can hold a candle (geddit?) to the side of the late 70s/early 80s.

Yea he seem to go into panic mode yesterday, just chucking on as many attacking players without any plan apart from hoof into the penalty area and hope.

I thought their goal was abit iffy , not sure if the correct frame was used

I'm gutted we decided to take a year off from playing football. Pipping these to the title after the last week would have been absolutely *chefs kiss* because fuck them.

Instead we are still going to have to listen to the insufferable twats going on. Hopefully we decide to pick back up the habit of playing footy next season.

If Liverpool had of went into equalise it would have been disastrous for Newcastle, Plus Bruno G would have deserved a swift kick to the nutsack for trying a cryuff turn on the half way line for no reason whatsoever.

Thankfully it never came to that and the goal gave them false hope and made it worse for them...Which is fucking fabulous.

I was screaming from 2-0 up as there'd been no bookings to kick the dips up in the air every time they put a couple of passes together....like teams do against us .

Anyway all turned out fine.

Thankfully they never kicked Salah, He needed a boot up the hole by doing sweet fuck all...Newcastle just left him be...Great tactic :)
 
Really does show what an achievement our own Double and Treble winning seasons over the last 10 years have been. In a season with no pressure on them in the league to speak off they've blown the other 3. Compare with the mentality monster season we had for our own domestic treble when the league went down to the last game.

Fingers crossed they've peaked this season coinciding with our own transition as a side and those out of contract move on in the summer.

Do you not think that aids you though? You keep winning, you carry that momentum on, you cannot afford to slip up. I think being so far ahead has hampered them a little, with also weird squad management at times. We have thrown about 3 fa cup semis because we had a tough CL tie coming up shortly after. As you say, it is hard and multiple trophies are almost taken for granted when we do it though.

To be fair it was only a few years ago they won the fa and league cup, took us to the final day for the league and lost the CL final. Fuck me I would have moved to the moon if the unthinkable happened.

I don't overly think yesterday was anything more than them losing to the better side, they played 120 minutes midweek against a good side and went out on penalties. They looked leggy and I am sure mentally that PSG knocked the stuffing out of them. If it wasn't for Arsenal being the team chasing them down I'd be praying for the fuck up of all fuck ups to take place in the league for them.

Exactly this. I think we’ve become so used to success, we’ve almost forgotten to reflect on & enjoy our amazing achievements over the last few years - in an era when competition is fierce (unlike the times the rags won everything but they were allowed to spend what they wanted resulting in them winning titles & thus getting all the money they needed )

Almost no time to enjoy them. Now’s the time to sit back & recall them - because next season we’ll be fighting again.

Liverpool tried to make out they were in for everything this year but unlike us (& our manager) they didn’t have the mentality- despite having fewer injuries than anyone else bar Forest.
