No problem there then:-)Yep.... legally we can then either turn the boats back or deport to their country of origin .

Its shows how media is using it's influence to influence the country.Since the election, according to Home Office figures, deportations have reached their highest level in five years, while raids to uncover illegal employment have increased too. So yeh, they are doing nothing apparently.
thanks..... so you have no solution for the hundred that will pitch up today and tomorrow?
It is great to say process them before they make that journey, but surely that is available to them, just go to the British Embassy in the first country that has one and make your case? But they don't do this.
How will rejoining the EU or recreating the Dublin make any difference?
The original question was and still is.... what should we do with the 100 that are turning up daily, what should our stance be.... bearing in mind we are on the bones of our arses and have severe financial issues to be able to fund anything.
There isn’t a process in place, you’d like to think you could turn up at your nearest British embassy or consulate and apply away for asylum. But you can’t. You have to apply from these shores. Therein lays the problem.
So @Alan Harper's Tash is spot on when he says about processing their applications before they set foot on a boat. The British public will have a whole lot less sympathy with those that, having been fairly denied, then jumping on an inflatable.
Absolutely correct on the last point. If they’ve been rejected for asylum, then they have no basis in getting on a dinghy and coming here. If they tried, they should be returned to wherever they have come from as they have been processed and their claim does not meet the UK’s criteria. There isn’t a process in place, you’d like to think you could turn up at your nearest British embassy or consulate and apply away for asylum. It’ll be interesting to see what is left of the Reform party, or whether Musk has funded a party with Tommy Robinson as leader.
You think you know it all but about me but in fact, you don't know anything, though you are free to think that you do... so carry on.he also thinks you just scrap Human Rights Laws at a whim.
No wonder he will be voting for Farage.

Given the electoral system we have and the limited caliber in the quality of parties we have to choose from you might find that Frage and Reform will do rather well.
Who are you going to blame for that? Certainly won't be your luvvie Labour party, though it should begiven the quality of the opposition they would have too beat.
Why can you lefties never accept that Kier Starmer, Rachel Reeves and co. can make mistakes? And the have alread made loads in just eight months? It's that radical thinking that drives middle of the road voters away.
It’s also as if he’s not seen any of us criticise the WFA withdrawal or clamp down of disability benefits.and you will never credit Labour or Starmer for anything, just constant bore fest moaning.
Jersey would seem like the ideal location and they are already compensated by being exempt from CGT and Inheritance tax. Close to France, plenty of hotels. What's not to like ?But you can’t. You have to apply from these shores. Therein lays the problem.

Why don't you start by defining the solution?
If these make the effort and get here should they by default allowed to stay or not?

This sub forum has been a moan fest since the day of its inception.
Seems strange moaning about government policy is now seemingly boring and an issue?
To give Blueinsa his dues, he is consistent in moaning about everything and that change is always needed! :-)Indeed, and rightly so at times.
The 'boring' part is when a certain pro Farage/Reform voter constantly vents and rages about Labour typing any old tripe he can think off, not be balanced and clearly being disingenuous.
But what have they achieved that deserves credit?and you will never credit Labour or Starmer for anything, just constant bore fest moaning.
.... and you don't think that the Labour followers on here don't appear exactly the same way to those who don't support Labours way of doing things...? fair enough.Indeed, and rightly so at times.

Yet you loved blue austerity and now hate red austerity. Very balanced and not hypocritical at all.You would have a point if you and many others were in any way balanced yourselves.
