PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The reason York is mentioned so much is after that defeat the club were in their lowest position ever in the football league. 10th in league one(or 3rd division in old money).

Many fans including me at that time just couldn't see a way back. After the defeat at Wrexham on boxing day the players and staff had a team meeting and many players at that time have said that's where the dogs of war mantra started with Andy Morrison as the leader which saw the start of an upturn in results which led us back to The Premier League
Wern't we 18th when the first table was published in 98/99 season? Played 3 with only 4 points.

Pannick has been in the House of Lords this week discussing an independent football regulator and Khaldoon has been at the Whitehouse. It doesn't look like City's executive and legal team are focused on reviewing a draft judgement. The timeline here does not even exist. City fans are waiting without any guidance. I am not doing that.

Both those gentlemen have large teams to do the gruntwork and anyway, one in particular has known the outcome from the start :-)

Didn’t we win?

THEE white house, holy fuck we massive.

I don’t know why everyone is obsessed by York.

York was one of the more attractive games of the season in a lovely city, with friendly people, just before Christmas and loads of great pubs.

Wrexham, on the other hand, the next game on the fixture list, on Boxing Day, no public transport, pissing down, the team at its lowest ebb post the York game and Wrexham being unfriendly and an absolute shit hole, should be the infamous fixture.

Wycombe was far worse mid week too.
Playing Mac town is my supporting low point.
I know we scraped a win in both matches against them but Mac town? Pub league team.
I thought we were done for as a club tbh.

Bizzare that he seems to hate us these days. Or at least have no fondness for us whatsoever. I cannot stand his commentary most of the time.

This story is so big I don’t think it really matters when it’s actually released. You can’t bury news that city won. Just not possible.

Stage managing it is the least of the leagues problem. They have the media machine behind them to twist and turn when needed.

If City know we are clear then I am surprised we don’t release when ready but maybe the tribunal has asked for both parties to try and deliver a result that doesn’t cause more issues like APT.

I would say parts of the verdict will not show the club in a good light so maybe that’s the issue now, optics is more important today that who has won or lost it seems.

100%. Stefan was spot on the other day when he said judgments aren't typically read by more than the interested parties. In this case people will be searching for anything they can find and even if the headline is that we were cleared, they'll adopt a position of "we got away with x" and "the panel were still concerned by y". That rhetoric is already being pedalled. But they're clutching at straws if that's what they resort to.
