We already know your answer;-)
That’s me busted :)
We already know your answer;-)
Which members of Sunak’s last cabinet were more impressive than those in Thatcher’s first?
I did think about deleting the bit about you being a broker to spare your blushes ...That’s me busted :)
Hmmmm we are talking current day politicians but yes I suppose you could include them in that number.... I mean FFS they're both pushing up daisies
It’s not just down to that. The talent pool is much, much shallower. No contest. Thatcher’s first cabinet had energy and intellectual heft. Sunak’s last cabinet came after several purges of the Tory party and had to be nailed to its perch to stay upright. The No.10 cleaning lady was better qualified than most of the Sunak cabinet.
I think the point I was trying to make [rather poorly I admit] was in response to the every generation says this comment.... and I think you have illustrated it well why each generation might say this. I suppose it would depend upon who you are speaking to at the time and the context of the conversation, it is about what your are speaking what the as @BobKowalski says it is probably too wide a question but on the whole I think people would probably prefer the world they used to live in, their younger days... the good old days. I think I wish I was living back in the late 60's onward until the mid 80's. Others may think different as is their want.
Really? Were you ever any good at English at school. Did you never do comprehension where you learn to both read and understand text?
Evidently not.
I have said it time and time again, I do not rate todays politicians of either stripe (red or blue) particularly good or inspiring. Because I feel this way and have said that apart from not having a party of substance I genuinely don't think Reform could do any worse, I am by default according to luminaries on here such as @BlueHammer85 I am as a dyed in the wool supporter for Reform as they are for Labour... which is simply not true.I thought your original declaration would in the end have predictable exemptions
The key phrase is younger days. Every older generation when asked what was the best era to live will say when they were young. It has nothing to do with what was happening (world wars aside), and everything to do with the fact they were young. They are nostalgic for the youth, not the era.
Your preferred decade is the seventies which, when compared to now,, was a shit decade. The country was truly going down the toilet and makes today look like utopia. Pub bombings, strikes, rampant inflation and that’s only scratching the surface.
Hankering for the past is no way to live the present. It will make you miserable.
You're at it again.... Just because I don't like or support the Tory lite Labour party it really does not make me right wing, that is of course unless you are a radical left wing communist!Got a B.
Did cheat for Romeo & Juliet notes.
Anyway, stop being a right wing muppet.
No just for you to realise that your beloved Labour party are going to hit this country so hard with their austerity measures you will not know what has hit you.He knows that, it’s a right wing trick to pretend it was all better in the good ol’ days. What he really wants is for us to join in the anger and venom against liberals and Muslims.
There is no particular party preference here, but it really does expose the lack of competency in government.
Apart from that it is IMO entertaining to watch them squirm, and this guy is particularly good at it.
Are there any more embarrassing moments for our great and good out there? Clip away!!
At the same time?1990’s Brit pop, Major banging Currie and Blair
Respect that you disagree. My point here is that both parties are equally incompetent.Disagree... the supposedly imcompant that you're complaining against were elected to office.
A type of voting system that elected me would resolve that issue.8 pages to establish all politicians are shit and all the same.
Therefore, no type of voting system can put anyone competent in office.
You know what..... I no longer think I'm being stalked8 pages to establish all politicians are shit and all the same.
Therefore, no type of voting system can put anyone competent in office.
Awesome. What a thread.
If we had a thread on how to encourage more suitable people to involve themselves in politics, that would be infinitely more useful than one wallowing in the quagmire endlessly.A type of voting system that elected me would resolve that issue.
“You’ve just written in another thread that dishonest people don’t trust people as they assume everyone is trying to rip them off.You know what..... I no longer think I'm being stalked
all politicians are shit and all the same.... Even your precious and beloved Labour party...? Welcome aboard!
“You’ve just written in another thread that dishonest people don’t trust people as they assume everyone is trying to rip them off.
That certainly rings true in this thread.”
Sums you up.
