PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Surely Pep’s guidance has been given by the hearing judge/ legal team and was based on Easter from previous.

I imagine they gave a rough indication, the tribunal won’t have a specific date they have to hit it will be when they are ready.

They are also writing up potentially the judgment that is going to be read through the most in history (that might be an over selling it, I honestly don’t know).

But so many people are interested in it and there will be numerous people who read through just 1 and this is it.

So I don’t blame them taking their time to get it out, they will want to have triples checked absolutely everything.

Be patient blues and remember 2 things…

1. The North Stand extension, Erling contract, Pep contract, Jan signings.
2. The later in the season the more it takes the gloss of Liverpool.
Good second point. Great if a positive result arrived just as the dippers claimed the league and was so controversial that it totally dominated the news cycle for months. Classic that.

That point number two is fucking brilliant. I’d not thought of that!

Imagine they win the league and on the same day the positive result of this comes out? Their league win is already secondary news. Nobody is talking about it since their cup exits. Nobody cares.

Imagine our result from this drowning out their league win?! It would be like their asterisk 2020 win. Nobody cares other than their fans. Meanwhile we are the big news.
Yes, I’ll be quite happily wait a few more weeks till it’s mathematically impossible for The Gooners to catch them, then BANG!!!

If we are going to be pedantic, he said 'in a month' on the 8th of February. We are a couple weeks out of that now, never mind next week.

IF, you were going to take that so literally without a pinch of salt.
If we are going to be pedantic 'in a month' could equally apply to the following month - i.e. the one we are now in and has a quarter still to go.

Not sure if your knowledge of equine anatomy needs revision - there is no way on God's blue earth that City and the PL don't have the panel's verdict by now. You & your mate can wear the T shirt with pride

I would say that by the end of the hearing it was obvious which way the panel would decide on 90% of the charges. There would be a few grey areas 1 or 2 perhaps serious from a sanctions viewpoint. The judgement would be long and detailed taking 3 to 4 months at least to write up which means it comes on stream soon. Its fair to speculate that both sides know the likely outcome currently. What they would be waiting for is confirmation or a potential surprise.

Why are you so confident on this. It makes absolutely no sense that City or the PL have the verdict and are sitting on it. Its the biggest story in world sport. The second that verdict is delivered its going to be absolutely everywhere. The PL leaks like a colander.

That’s my take too. They have an idea but nothing official at all.

The release date has just become one huge guessing game born of frustration and anxiety.

Mine has always been April 4th and is based on the average timelines of people who know more than I do about how long things take. It’s almost certainly wrong too.

Flies in the face of Pep saying we would have the decision in about a month, about a month ago.

People need to be sensible here. Just because @slbsn and @BillyShears have “heard” the club hasn’t had the decision, doesn’t mean the club hasn’t had the decision.

Let’s be realistic, the club is not going to release that information to two random members of the public, especially to two people the club will be aware are very active on social media.

I’d be 100 times more likely to go with what Pep is saying.
Pep may have been speaking out of pure expectation. Or to delay questions for another month. Or to prompt a questions about it, and detract from what was going on in the pitch. Or to give the players a bit of a shake, or to give everyone else a bit of a shake. Or just said something that popped into his mind at that moment.

A lot of the expection that we will hear something in this period is coming from his comment, and then anyone hedging their guesses is gambling on that.

As a result a bunch are interpreting what 'the hold-up' or 'the delay' means, whether the club actually know, whether they say they don't but they do, who knows what and who believes what.

But the reality could well be, there IS no hold-up, there is no delay, this is the time it takes and would have taken anyway. And the club really havent heard anything, and will do when they do. And it is simply the expectation that is misplaced, and not anything else.

Whilst I think it is more likely they do release a full reasoned decision at each stage, these rules do not make that clear. It is not impossible that an interim or partial decision (ie liability) is not a final determination or that under W.49 the parties agree not to release it to keep a lid on the speculation pending the sanction decision.

"In either case, unless the parties otherwise agree, the Commission shall give its reasons for its decision (a copy of which shall be provided to the Chair of the Judicial Panel). In the event of a majority decision no minority or dissenting opinion shall be produced or published."

There is also W.83.3 which says "final awards of any Commission, Interim Commission or Appeal Board shall be confirmed publicly and published on the League’s website"

Again, is a partial final award a final award? Or is it an interim award? Seen it called different things
I'd love to understand wtf your talking about but it's all double Dutch to me lol

Wonder if it gets to a point in the next few weeks where any decision is held off until after the season. If there was any punishments or a point deduction they may want it to apply from next season rather than this with any resulting chaos in the last few weeks of the season, due to appeals,it may cause with other clubs.

Not sure how sustainable or viable that would be. If there is a punishment, it still needs to go through the process to get decided, and then appealed and either reduced or upheld.

If that doesn't happen before the next season, then they have the exact same issue as now, it comes at a point in the season and causes chaos.

The only way to avoid it (assuming we aren't cleared and there is a punishment) would imho be that it comes out now, goes through the sausage machine, and is decided before the next season.

The club and the PL have known the outcome since the proceedings were completed in December last year. To claim this verdict has continued to be kept secret by the panel judges since then is absurd.

Imagine it if it was released on Derby Day in a fortnight with a positive outcome for us.

Old Scaffold would be like a morgue!
Ah, let them have one more chorus of 'cheating bastards'.

Before we then get months of Innocent Again Ole Ole
