President Trump

The difference is Australia won't throw you into a concentration camp without any legal representation and let you stew for weeks in a hellhole.

Increasing numbers of countries are advising their citizens to avoid travelling to the USA. The UK is one of them.

I'm sorry to piss on your chips, but it is a Trump thing. The world is turning its back on the USA, and it matters not one jot if you can't see the reasom why? We can.

The USA is rapidly turning into a facist state, and I don't know of any other free nation in the world that would refuse entry into their country because their border force officials deem any slight criticsm of their Glorious Leader on mobile devices a terrorist threat.
I'm not defending Trump.
My post was in reply to a poster saying he would not show airport staff his text messages as it was private.

It was clear what I was replying to. It is not a trump thing.

If as you say he has ramped it up then that is something entirely different.
That said my post stands. Refuse to show immigration your messages and they won't let you in.

As I said earlier, in the 10 years I've been coming here, I've not once been asked by a border official if they can inspect my electronic devices apart from one time when I was asked to prove my work laptop would turn on. None of my friends and colleagues have either.
I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying.
Thousands of people pass through airports every hour. They profile you.
A computer tells them who to check as well as normal intuition.
The fact that you are a regular visitor flags up. You have not come to their notice before so they ignore you and concentrate on others.

My point stands though. If they want to see your emails, texts anything you can refuse. But you won't be let in the country.

This has always happened. Trump may be ramping it up but all I've seen is a message from a govt. department scaremongering.

Denmark apparently "regret" ordering the F35. Can't say I'm surprised, what does surprise me is they (and every fucker else) haven't cancelled the orders

A high-profile US delegation will visit Greenland this week as President Donald Trump continues to threaten to annexe the strategic Danish territory.

Usha Vance, wife of vice-president JD Vance, will lead the delegation that includes White House national security adviser Mike Waltz and energy secretary Chris Wright.

Mr Waltz and Mr Wright plan to visit the Pituffik space base, the US military base in Greenland.

The team will also watch a national dogsled race and visit historical sites.

Oh my fukin word
That is tantamount to a declaration of war.
Why Are the British outlets not running this stuff it's like there is a blackout burying our head in the sand

If you look at who owns the British press and ask yourself who they have more in common with, the average European citizen simply looking to live in a peaceful and at least somewhat fair and democratic society or the kind of people Vance is a mouthpiece for? I think there's your answer.

I think we're still in collective denial as to how bad things are, and treating this sort of thing as a bit of a joke.

It isn't; these people are the real deal, genuine fascists.

Some people seem to think that being chaotic and incompetent in the conventional sense will eventually get him/them in the end. That's not the lesson of the 20th century. Being lazy, clownish and incompetent is no impediment to becoming a dictator, it might even help. Contrary to received wisdom, there was no 'German efficiency' in Hitler's governance. His early government was so chaotic and badly run it was one of reasons the German elite disregarded the threat until it was too late. They just couldn't conceive that someone this seemingly ridiculous could last the course. But they were looking at the wrong things and they were dead wrong.

Utter crap.
The U.K. is not advising against travel to the US.

That includes the Director General and Board of the BBC.

Growing up in the sixties and seventies we were taught that Communism was the enemy of us all.
I am sure they were right then but now we've gone completely the opposite.
Russia has a dictator, Turkey and Israel seem to be heading quickly there, Trump is doing it or at least trying to.

To me it's not left or right wing. It is simply power mad idiots who are a danger to the free world.
