You've just named five or maybe even six players who will (should) be gone in the summer. Add USA bound KDB to that list too.
There's a big difference between loss of form and loss / lack of ability/intensity at top level.
To be honest, Phil has been as bad as, if not worse than, most of those you’ve named this season.
The important thing is that time on his side and, unless he does a Michael Johnson on us (heaven forbid), he'll be fine in the long term.
The difference is Phil is reigning POTY, and has improved pretty linearly for 6/7 years in a row. I thought this season he might make a jump up to megastar, but I think I also wrote that he’s due a dud season and maybe this is it.
That Foden has an illness affecting his form is speculation. He, Pep and City coaching staff will know all about his physical state and ability to play. My observation is now we rarely see him smile which indicates all is not well be it mental or physical, on or off the field, football or domestic. It is best kept private and I am sure support is there to help get him back on track but ultimately it is down to him so no point in speculating.

Apologies I got the year wrongThe appendicitis operation was in March 2023. After that, he had a great season and was named POTY last season.
These are just another excuses.

I usually ignore much of what's said by players. They're invariably following the party line, and any 'inconvenient truths' tend to be washed over.

Not upset, Im just pointing out your hypocrisy.
There are people who stupidly go in one direction claiming to want phil sold over this season, but equally, we dont neee ppl glazing him over simple stuff in the complete opposite direction.
Looked reasonably sharp when he came on tonight. Granted it was only Latvia, but encouraging signs nonetheless. Hopefully he can put whatever problems he is facing behind him, and return to last season’s form soon.

How does that help us if he moves to Stockport county ?Needs to move back to Stockport area where he feels more at home and make him happy again.
