Priced out? | Club announce that matchday tickets being reduced by up to 43% (p93)

The amount of work, effort and time 1894 have put into it has been incredible. Think the block of singers is a very good idea and should be brought in for more games.
Top effort from 1894. I will be joining in from 209.

If there is a chant of can we hear you 209? I will donate to the next flag display.

That does seem a little as they have been on sale in that block for a while now.
Where are all the people at the start of the season who were complaining they couldn't get a season ticket?
Do people even know these are available?

Many people have busy lives and don’t always get chance to check stuff like this (which is why they want a season ticket so they don’t have to).
Many others don’t bother checking because they’re so used to tickets being too expensive.

And City don’t reach out to fans.

I’ve asked my Dad (he’s a Matchday member) and my Sister (has a Supporter No but not a member this season) if they’ve received an email about some tickets for either Leicester or Palace games being £30, and neither of them have.

That’s why I’ve just put the email I received about Palace at home on as a thread on here.

15,000 season card holders won’t be at the Leicester game. These are tickets that have already been paid for. Many will be listed on the Ticiet Exchsngr.

. Credit to 1894 for organising a block of singers. The lads need support around the ground. Supporting our team shouldn’t be so dependant on whether we are in the title race or not. Each to their own.
Sorry if I've missed something, why are you saying 15k season card holders won't be at Leicester?

It might be at the top end of my expectations but there was hardly anyone I recognised at the Brighton game (apart from my immediate group). I’m including Blues who have transferred tickets to mates (fair enough), ticket listings and no shows.

a made up figure then !
Well it’s about 10k for matches against teams outside the Champs League places (and the rags), That’s without all the current doom and gloom.

I also try to gee people up to attend. The £30 tickets are a good incentive too.

I think quite a few people do know, mate. For example, tickets on the face value pages are shifting slower for the Leicester game and I reckon that’s a factor,’as well as our mixed form.

We've got just short of 36k season ticket holders. 15k missing equates to 41% of all season tickets. I think your expectations is wildly off.

I'm sorry to point it out Tim but I think it's an important point. In the last few weeks we've seen seaon card holders (unjustly in my opinion) receive a share of blame for the away fans in the home end. I think it's important no blame is attributed to for low attendances as well.

Aside from form (which will likely play a part) the reason there's so many tickets available for Leicester (and possibly Palace) is because of the ridiculous match day pricing over the years. Attending football is a habit, as soon as you price people out they stop going. I wouldn't pay £61 to watch us play Leicester and frankly I don't blame anybody that won't.

They spammed everyone on 12/3 about Leicester, and today v Palace.

As Palace is the only home game at a weekend for about 6 weeks the additional 1,550 are selling out 20 times faster than Foxes ones, and are likely to be gone by Wednesday.

No one should reach out unless they are in the Four Tops.

No need to worry sharing your opinion mate. I agree to an extent. I think 12k, a third of the total, is very realistic. It was certainly in that ball park against Brighton. I doubt I am way off. Many will pass to mates / friends & Family so there’s Blues in the seats.

I think most of the away fans (not huge numbers) will have either bought their own membership card (we seem to play Real Madrid every season) or will have bought through touts.

Price isn’t the main issue (in relation to my point) but it’s definitely a factor in terms of who season card holders will sell to. Price is a big problem overall.

It was interesting on Cheesey’s podcast how Jackie seemed to have a good understanding how important the face value pages are to die hard Blues who can’t afford the full prices. This sometimes gets lost in the debates about ticket affordability.

Don't the Five Tops qualify this season?

At City they are getting rid of season ticket holders.

By launching the "Historical Season-Ticket Holders" programme in 2024, Paris Saint-Germain aimed to celebrate a select group of supporters who have held a season ticket at the Parc des Princes for at least 40 years. These supporters, who embody the Club’s history, were honoured during a ceremony at the PSG Campus.

I'm not sure we have records showing ST holders for 40 years.
We should have records of those who were called "regular" or something to signify at least five years as an ST holder before moving to the Etihad.
I'm on 51 years so I'll join in with whatever celebration we're not going to have.

Good story.
I went in the 70s to old Trafford regularly.
My mates dad( rags) geve me a lift. It was pennies to get in.
The difference was when I went to Maine Rd I felt nervous and happy at the same time. At OldTrafford I felt sick in the stomach.
There were few alternatives back in the day, I played Sat morning and watched Sat afternoon.
I was at that Match and we escaped unhurt, my first taste, at 11.
Yes me too. The Stretford End emptied as I remember and we were fully expecting a visit in the Scoreboard End but it didn't really get fully blown out of hand.

Upsets me big time what the club have done in regards to pricing out our core support. We have definitely reached the tipping point now. In our group , we have gone from a solid group of 15 lads to 2 or 3 of us. Simply down to lads being priced out and lost the habit of going to games . Been listening to a few podcasts such as 93;30 and Ian Cheesenan talking about the situation and it breaks my heart out to listen about of all of the ‘good will’ from the likes of 1894 group , the foodbank and the likes of Alex from City matters and the club continue to ignore our pleas .
I can’t shake off my ritual of going games and luckily have a season ticket but I’m completely falling out of love with the whole game . The match day buzz has completely gone . Seeing memories pop up on my Facebook feed of City fans in Barcelona having a ball dancing in fountains and the first few trips to Wembley etc… them days just seem to have evaporated . Felt jealous watching the Geordies last week, just reminded me of the Stoke game . We’re still quite vocal in block 111 but it’s a shadow of its former self , the concourse used to always be bouncing with songs . Don’t even hear any songs being sang anymore even for Derby Day .

It’s definitely changed/changing.

Used to be a real buzz around the ground on derby day. Just wasn’t there this season. Too many day trippers doesn’t help I suppose.

Exactly the same with my group of mates.

When we first moved to the CoMS in 2003, we filled a coach from our local for the first season with mostly our mates. For years that became a minibus with our main group of mates.

Now two of us are left who have season tickets. Almost solely down to price increases over the years.

I think we have to come up with better ways rather than giving up our season tickets. We have to ask mates or family if they’ll share them with us, go-halves for the season or something, so that we are still attending games and it’s still local City fans going.

The lad who used to sit to my left gave up his season ticket after the treble season and it’s been a different foreigner next to me who’s either been a fan of City, a fan of football in general, a fan of an opposition player, the opposition team or it’s been an empty seat. Most of the time whoever is there genuinely annoys me, I prefer it when it’s an empty seat.
