TV Series

After seeing so many shoutouts for ‘Severance’ I thought I should give it a go.

After two episodes I’m not really sure about it yet.

It could grow on me. But at the minute I’m thinking it more likely to be filed away in the box I call the ‘Minority Report’ department. Things that sound like a really good idea but actually turn out to be a bit shit.

Watched the first season. Thought it was a load of bollocks but it must be well loved for a reason. I like slow burners but fuck me, felt like my eyes were going to fall out.

I'm now watching Chicago Blue - and so help me - I really like vegging-out and watching episode after episode. It's a sort of soap opera experience except that it's far better scripted than your usual soap.

Dick Wolf has numerous very popular series to his credit in the USA and Chicago Blue is but one of them.

The only complaint I have against Chicago Blue - binge watching from the beginning of the series - is that several episodes are cross-overs - bringing in a nominally separate Dick Wolf series into the main plot of Chicago Blue. This really fucks with the Chicago Blue narrative unless you take the trouble to watch the cross-over episodes.

Some sort of New York PD series crosses over into Chicago Blue. I've no doubt that I'd enjoy the NYPD series - but FFS - why do I need to watch NYPD episodes in order to get the most out of Chicago Blue?

Chicago Blue: 9.5/10

Getting through the last of us ahead of season 2. I've played both games, I know the story so I've just never been that bothered to watch it even though I loved the game as its not easily available to me. I'm 6 episodes in now, kind of feels a bit rushed, more infected and a deeper delve into Joel and ellies relationship would have been better but it's still excellently done.

I know they've said at least 2 and maybe 3 seasons to get through the story of the second game, feel like it needs at least that. No spoilers from me but the game was very controversial, there's some big things that I want to see how they deal with for a tv audience. The story in the game was done in a way that suited the game, it wouldn't suit tv so It will be interesting to see what they do. I expect it to be very big when season 2 starts in April.

Just watching This City is Ours.

Three episodes in and it is IMO very good. It's up to date, engaging, the acting is good and the storyline is current and relevant...

If you enjoyed Kin, this may just be for you?
Watched episode 1 and thought it was ok apart from getting my head around Mr Sheffield being the top dog in a dipper crime family!
