North Stand Construction Discussion

I'm quite surprised that there are stairs for access to the upper tier, I would have throught this was an excellent opportunity to incorporate escalators (unless this is the case and we cannot see them)
Think you’ll find the upper floors are serviced with lifts :-)

Not for GA though
I don't get what either of you mean.

The tier is accessed straight off the ground floor and the outside public square. What would be the point?

Plus the GA does have lift access to each concourse level, on the two towers of the stand.

The good thing about stairs is that they always work, escalators on the other hand!

Just like all the other stands Im expecting that the access to the lifts will be controlled for those with disabilities

Came back from the Caribbean in February and had to walk about a mile to baggage reclaim in T2. The first part had zero travelators at all. God help any people who had walking problems.
Bring back Blackpool airport ! Well worth the extra mileage :-)

"An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You should never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience."

I had the same coming back from Cyprus the other week. Then it wasn't signposted well on how to now get to the skywalk to get to the train station. Ended up walking round outside.

Todays look around, left hand side terracing being finished, crane struggling to get some stairs through the gap.

I also done a full walk around from the ground but will put that on tomorow

Anyone know where or what those stairs at doing , as he mentioned in the video it looked it was going to be another way to access the stand as it has 2 concrete walls but by the end of the video it was placed on the floor .
Any idea?

I think it’s most likely just an internal staircase for between floors , not really sure why I hasn’t been fixed before ??
