TV Series

Last one laughing. Enjoyed it. Chiefly because of Bob mortimer who I've loved since childhood, he and Richard Ayoade carried the show hard. Without those 2 it wouldn't have been worth watching.

Joe wilkinsons 2 shows were good too but he was out early. Judi love was in it for most of the show and didnt make a single joke aside from suggesting something be used as a vibrator, twice.

There's a really good potential format there though if they change it slightly. Needs to be more incentive to try to make people laugh and much less of people just walking away before they crack. Make it a points system, points for making someone laugh, minus points for laughing with eliminations for the lowest scorers at set time periods would make for a much better format over the two strikes and your out approach they went with.

Is Justified any good Barco?
I watched a couple of episodes of Justified. I just couldn't get into it.

The series seemed designed to put the lead character into a bunch of really dangerous and somewhat or outright implausible situations in which he makes some sort of bravado speech and/or kills a bunch of bad guys however outgunned.

On the other hand, Deadwood, also starring Timothy Olyphant, is full of the same sort of over-the-top action, but it's in the context of amazing, Shakespearean dialog.

Loved Deadwood - top 5 or so ever series of all time for me - but not a fan of Justified.

I think what keeps it afloat is that the writing is consistent.

It’s more any scene Gary Oldman or Kristin Scott Thomas is in is worth watching for me. I don’t think the writing or the rest of the acting is that good at all.

Justified up next.

Adolescence.......OK, but nowhere near the hype.
How it has started debates about the content (being so flimsy) is beyond belief, and highlights how 'sensitive' and 'offended' people have become.....if it was even remotely an issue, half the population, kids & adults alike, would currently be serving time for murder.
Does show what good promoting can do for a series or film though.
Some scenes were so bad and cringy it was embarrassing.

Started watching Justified but very confused as I thought it was a western like Deadwood or something. It's ok so far but hoping for the big improvement jump people claim happens in season 2

I thought they were all great except for the divorcee.

Thought Judi love was the only one who was awful, the same tired joke twice was the extent of her input.

Some of the others didn't add much either though, Sara pascoe was out pretty much straight away and had no opportunity, same with joe lycett. Harriet kemsley didn't add much, daisy may Cooper spent the majority of the time just holding in a laugh. Joe wilkinson was good in his bits, Rob Beckett had the odd decent line and Lou sanders played her part but ayoade and Bob mortimer were undoubtedly the stars.

Probably said a few times before but.
Tinstar with tim roth I think he's called is brilliant..Westworld.
Bit weird but very good.
And I really liked fortitude.
Irish fella with a beard is excellent.

The Studio.

First two episodes are up on Apple TV. Fantastic so far. The second episode digging in on the current trend of one shots in movies whilst itself being a one shot is brilliant. Very funny.

Consistent meaning 'level'. It doesn't disappear up its own arse nor does it do anything super fantastical. It stays within its remit.

It's pretty consistent in that way.

It's not great, but nor is it poor.

Go back a few pages and you will see a few warning me off Tin Star after season one. And they were correct.
