Seat Counters - 2024/25

I looked at the Leicester returns (£30) and they have nearly all gone (127). Price the game right, and City fans will come. There are a lot of season ticket exchanges which are unlikely to sell. A shame because this was a night when City really needed the support.

City fans had the chance to showcase what effect City support can be but it's not going to happen now.
Weird selling pattern though. I’m abroad with work this week and put 2 in 102 on the exchange last week; “sold” with a minute despite there being thousands available including the £30 returns. Gotta be the club buying those for “hospitality”, touts wouldn’t be so stupid

Perhaps the lower bowl is more popular. The atmosphere is much better there than up in the Gods where I sit.

Whatever the reasons, it’s a ridiculous situation that a game listed as ‘Sold Out’ on the club website between July 2024 and March 2025, ends up with 3,000 tickets for sale, two days before the game.
This is the exact problem. Those 3000 tickets would have been snapped up last summer if put on sale to members or even as part of new season tickets, but instead they are spread far and wide via ticket sites to encourage occasional supporters. It makes perfect sense whilst the demand is there, but if that changes…

Leicester returned half their allocation. And by KO blues will have bought up those seats but it means that a lot of put of town seasoncard holders are going to have problems selling their seats. There's also no jeopardy in the absence of a title race.

City are still in the FA Cup. City are in a CL place fight. There are plenty of reasons to go on Wednesday, but not a those ticket prices, bar in the SSL3 away end, which will sell out. Compare that block to every other block that all have seats unsold.

There’s also thousands of season card holders who list their tickets on the Exchange. That’s a legitimate choice under the current system.

Maybe they should do what airlines do and sell more tickets than seats if the demand is there pre season for the non premium games?

Obviously they’d be unspecified seats but if people are happy to do that so they can at least make plans well in advance, they might prefer that to this ‘second drop’ bollocks?

Let’s be honest - the number of seats still available is a disgrace for a team that’s won 4 titles on the bounce.

We’ve fucked up beyond belief - we should be set up for a generation of full houses for every game yet we somehow have this mess losing fans by the day.

The chronic mis-management on how to alienate a supporter base whilst building a new stand that is simply not needed will be analysed by other clubs for years.

How the smartest men in the room became the village idiots within 12 months !

Correct.

And 100% true.

They weren't the smartest men in the room 12 months ago as they'd already alienated much of our traditional support by that point,
They were also well down the road to an additional 8,000 seats and must have known they had no chance of filling them for most games without significant price reductions.
The second half on Sunday might have got people interested, but not sufficiently interested to buy membership on top of a £30 ticket, though I'd expect many who have been priced out recently will already have customer numbers.

Unfortunately the facts don't back you up , the current ticket sales for this season stand at approx 98% tickets sold for all matches so if you do the math it's not in the clubs interest to reduce the prices to get to 100% as they make more money from the current sales model .

I was thinking more about the traditional fans being alienated. They have been replaced by new fans and tourists, but will there be sufficient new fans and tourists to fill another 8,000 seats next season?

Unfortunately we are now a tourist destination, and the club expect to have roughly the same next season. They won't say how many memberships they expect to sell next season but are confident it will be more than this due to exposure at club world cup

I think we have to agree to disagree; we'll know the answer when the extension opens in 10/11 months time. However I'm not sure the club world cup will increase attendances significantly as we are already the most successful team in England over the past decade, and overseas tourists will mostly be making once in a lifetime visits.

We will , i believe they have used 2 market research companies who both came to the same conclusion.. we could get the fan reps to ask to see them but doubt the club would claiming business confidentiality

It depends how we do at the CWC. If we win it it will be huge for City. The £97m prize money is just the tip of the iceberg. No matter how much the UK press sneers about the trophy it will be a massive global sporting event in the rest of the world.
