Seat Counters - 2024/25

It's damning that every single home league game isn't sold out, regardless of the underlying reason. We are the best and most successful club in Europe this past decade, we also have some of the largest social media followings in world football. Something is drastically wrong seeing the number of vacant seats last night. Whether it's the club's fault, the fan's fault, or a mixture of both, it's not a good look and feeds right into the 'emptyhad' agenda.
It is 100% the clubs fault. You reference a worldwide social media following and that worldwide income stream, and the tourist market, is what has been chased relentlessly at the expense of the relationship with our core local support, which has been priced out and disrespected for years. Last night, pre Xmas, midweek, dark and wet, is just the sort of game City should be seriously discounting and trying to rebuild the bridges a bit, but they don’t seem interested at all. The new stand and hotel will be full of tourists for the big games, if we remain successful. If we don’t, there will be a lot of empty seats to count at a lot of games, especially midweek.

Due to friends and family being ill and other circumstances, l had 8 tickets available to me last night, I couldn’t get rid of one on this forum for £10 even hospitality at £20 including a pint and program wouldn’t sell.
In the end I managed to give one hospitality away for free outside the ground to a very grateful Barcelona fan boy! Who’s friends had already paid £100 each for their tickets
That's the problem the club find trying to sell them at the last minute
The other big problem we haven't focused on our local.support into regular match going fans .Because of the crazy way we sell tickets plus the daft prices far to many ( me included) are used to putting our feet up and watching on telly or in the pub.If I was offered one free last night I wouldn't have gone
I would rather wait for cup games which ticketsv are easier to get and along with other armchair supporting mates will have a few beers in a pub then sit together in the ground
Fair play for trying to get shut of them

Makes no sense. It actually states that 4 of our 7 home games this season have been sell outs, but then says our average is 46k, yet if you look at some of the recent years it states zero sell outs for the whole season in many of them but our average attendance was 52k/53k in all of those!

The club clearly never learned the lesson from Burnley last year and other games over the years

Last night there were quite a few who turned up late because they thought it was 8pm! Shit weather, early kick off so people struggle to get away from work school night and horrendous traffic I’m surprised there aren’t more empty seats. TV schedules the amount of games and of course pricing out locals it’s all coming to a head now.

Hi,I've explained what I think has happened on the previous page so it will be back over the 51k once the crowd figure is given out...

Yawn!!!

Credit to all the Blues who ensured tickets were transferred / resold with many available below face value. It was a respectable crowd for the time of year and conditions.

If Blues stop buying resale tickets direct from City, they will have to do something about ticket prices:

Credit to the singers who got the ground going and helped to make it an enjoyable night. Hopefully, we can kick on from this win.

Those posters who wanted boycotts etc, please boycott an away game rather than trying to brainwash everyone who loves going to the Etihad. Everyone says Anfield’s a shit hole so that could be a fixture to protest about, next season.

Whatever or wherever they've got that from it's pure bollocks, I didn't go to the Feynoord game or tonights, but haven't missed any others, and there's been few empty seats, so it's neither "bums on seats" or "tickets sold", just pure shite.

One away team didn't sell the 3rd tier out (Sothampton probably) but even that didn't have more than 1000 missing.
Watford in the League Cup might have been a bit low, but I agree the figure of 46k is simply bollocks.

The problem with slashing prices for one-off PL games close to the fixture is that it undermines the club's decision to sell all PL games well in advance. I doubt the crowd would have been much higher had we not had a slump om the pitch due to it being midweek, in December, and with it pissing down all day.
