Really valid points! I think as clubs and players begin to connect with the tournament it’ll grow in stature. Big prize money and stage, so players will be interested. It also allows for fans across the world to get closer to the club outside of Premier League and Champions League.
 
This CWC tournament kinda reminds me of when they concluded the Champions League & Europa League over 3 weeks during Covid lockdown times.

Any credibility it did have is wiped away by the fact it's held in America.
And they have invented a place for the made up bullshit yank team that messi plays for.
I might be an old **** but I have very little interest in this.
I've just read the winners will earn 90 million.
That's the same give it take as we got for winning the premier league last year.
Are they just going to keep inventing more and more wank tournaments with stupid pay days just for TV audiences.

I went to watch Buxton last week.
Only decided to go Friday night.
Sent a text to a few mates.
We all met up for a few beers first.
15 quid to get in.
Stood on the railway end.
With the bba.
Buxton barmy army.
Brilliant atmosphere.
A group of old mates having a beer on the terrace watching proper football.
No var.
3 o'clock kick off.
The guy who owns the club who's put loads of money on came for a chat in the bar.
Thanked us for going.
Brilliant day.
I said to a few blues I know up there.
"This is me from now on so much better than going to city".
When I said that I felt so sad Cos from been 6 I've gone to city with my dad.
He's still going.
I can't take any more.

I wish I could justify paying over 700 quid a year to watch city.
But I can't.
I can't stand the tourists.
Or kick off times.
Blah blah .
I don't need to justify my self to any one.

The biggest money in football is in European club football.
FIFA's biggest fear for the past twenty or thirty years has been UEFA becoming the most powerful governing body and this tournament is an attempt to stop that.

Prize money is great, but I'll never prioritise this over the PL or CL.
And I'd rather we didn't struggle at the start of next season due to players getting bugger all rest over the summer.

Does seem to go against even their own rules which prevents more than two teams from the same country unless more than two have won their continental trophy.

The Costa Rican side seem to have a pretty good argument from what I see, but not much appetite from FIFA for a Costa Rican side. Could maybe make an argument for another US side on the basis that Miami are just there as "host" rather than through qualification but it's weak.

I'm more surprised the ownership of Pachuca and Leon haven't just manipulated the ownership group in a way that would allow them both to compete.

Luckily you aren’t in charge…. You will never prioritise it over the Premier League or Champions League both of which are only 33 years old? I assume you weren’t into football before these “invented competitions”. Do you know who won the first ever World Cup? I assume not because it wasn’t popular (one game only had a 300 crowdand only the final was a sell out). Or… like everyone… do you know Uruguay won it because it is famous now as the first ever World Cup Winner despite it being derided at the time. That could be us at club level. First winner could be talked about forever. (Ok - I accept we need to look better than now to win it..!!)
