Roll call for 9 minute protest

I didn't do the protest as I didn't think it would have much impact on the club ( still not sure if it will either)...but I've never knocked anybody who was for doing the protest either.
I will admit there were a lot more doing the protest than I thought there would be and it was noticeable but I still think boycotting buying anything from the club on match days would make them take notice as it's a financial hit.
This question isn't aimed at you Gazinho but to everyone..and it's a genuine question
If the club decide to raise season ticket prices again for next season ( which I wouldn't put it past them ) will it make more fans give up their season tickets ..as it's been stated the club aren't releasing anymore even though there's plenty of fans who have given them up.
If fans do give them up it only allows the club to resell those seats at match day prices and increase revenue and there is no way the fans will get another season ticket..which in a way benefits the club but definitely doesn't help the atmosphere.
 
I joined in last night on EL1 concourse(FWIW) and it was pretty packed and when I peeked a view of the stadium it seemed many fans stayed on the concourse too. Although the game wasn't on UK TV our protest grabbed the headlines but I feel it's not enough for our owners to take action but well done all for protesting.

I think more action needs to be organised in our remaining 3 home games and next game I suggest staying outside the stadium for 30 minutes as a show of solidarity that we've been taken for granted for too long. Why should we? Short term pain will result in long term game for supporters sick of being taken for granted. Some have said on here they won't renew their SC next season on here but how many other blues won't renew who don't comment on Bluemoon for reasons of being priced out or sheer discontent on the way the club is heading and what it has already become? We have become the monster that we've hated for many years across town, morphed into a sky blue version of United, unfortunately.

When ADUG considered buying us out they knew this club was a sleeping giant. We proved we already had a large loyal fan base because we still turned up in the face of years of adversity and misery especially at our lowest point back in 98/99 in the old Third Division. When they bought us out things soon turned for the better and our fortunes changed. Our owners had a clear business vision of making this club the very best and they have kept every promise they've made except one.

Our chairman Khaldoon Al Muberak said how much he, Sheikh Mansour and the rest of the board appreciate our Mancunian core fanbase and how important we are in going forward into the future. I feel they meant it until they agreed to join the ESL in 21, that moment had alarm bells ringing of what their ulterior motive was. And their ulterior motive is coming to light and transpiring into treating 'legacy' supporters with utter contempt in pricing them out in order attract rich customers who have no allegiance and affinity to Manchester City, and that is plain wrong and stupid because they are playing a dangerous game that could(and probably will) backfire on them if and when our success dries up.

They've decided to get into bed and snuggle up to Viagogo and other online ticket agencies, feels like a virtual punch in the face and a painful one at that. I feel as though our loyalty has been betrayed tbh.

Next season we'll start to see more day trippers and we'll see away fans mingling with home fans, and there'll be flash points and skirmishes all over the stadium. Ok, the club will get their wish of selling tickets at extortionate prices via online ticket agencies but the price of their greed will be higher steward and policing costs to the club.

It's been fantastic seeing us being so successful on the pitch but it's been very expensive being a match going blue year on year, especially for those who go home and away in England and Europe, it's just that there aren't too many money growing trees in Manchester and surrounding areas these days.

I really hope the club sit up take notice and take action on how we feel before it's too late. Here's hoping : /
 
Anyone from 1894 able to share what plans may be for wolves game if there is no progress from the club?
 
I did the 9 minutes with my family and friends.
I have 5 season tickets in my family. We are lucky to be able to afford one and not have to pay individual matchday prices.
It will never be for me an 'I'm alright Jack' attitude just because I can afford to go.It's about standing in solidarity with our others supporters and showing the club that fans should be the 1st priority. My only concern is the club will not listen or care.
Also..please do not criticise fans who decided to go to the stands. That is their choice which should be respected.

Palace at home before then. You would like to think the club being more transparent after the City Matters meeting today might help them from a PR/further protests view but I won't hold my breath.

I know the question wasn't just aimed at me but ill try my best to answer it anyway, im almost certain they're planning on putting season ticket prices up again, whilst (maybe fruitlessly) hoping they wont.

I'll piss and moan as I have done for 9 of the past 10 years yet will still renew (and the 'club' know a heavy percentage of us will do so) because its something ive done for the past 27 years as a season ticket holder, I go with my dad and son/daughter and always have done, its something we've always done and will continue to do until my old fella is no longer around. I say son/daughter as the lad is 20 now he's been coming with me since he was 2 he plays football on a Saturday afternoon now so my daughter pretty much exclusively uses the ticket, I would love nothing more than them to have a season ticket each but haven't been able to get another one for the past 6 years.

You've nailed my stubborn attitude in your last sentence, another part of the reason ill blindly renew is the fact it would play perfectly into the hands of the suits making these decisions.

Anyway apologies that turned into an essay, onwards and upwards see you at that shithole on Sunday

Well that raises the question I asked a few days ago. What do we want from the club that is considered by most reasonable progress, and how much time is reasonable to give them to come forward with those?
 
I was always going to join the protest in SS3, but the unity shown was quite superb, and as others have said, the awareness created should give this greater momentum. For those still dismissing it, please open your collective eyes, and try to see the bigger picture. It's our club to love, and that love should never be allowed to turn to apathy because those at the top don't fucking care.

Yeah the club have us by the dangly bits as they know we will renew regardless.
Hopefully the protest might make them rethink the pricing policy but again I don't think it will..don't ask me what will make them rethink it apart from hitting them financially on match days by not purchasing anything at all.
I think match day ticket prices are extortionate especially for young kids..it must be hard for parents to not be able to afford to take their kids.
As a foc season ticket holder I would accept a rise in my ticket price if it lowered match day ticket prices especially for parents and kids.
 
As this protest attracts attention, it is perhaps necessary to stress that this is not a single issue solely about ticket prices. Absolutely that is hugely important, but there are associated issues, all caused by the same corporate greed. For example, the re-sale of tickets by the club via touting agencies is by far the biggest cause of away fans in our seats, which is a dangerous situation for everybody, club stewards included. In pursuit of profit, City are knowingly and deliberately compromising segregation, which is there for a reason. When they allow the touting of away tickets, City arrogantly take it upon themselves to risk compromising segregation at somebody else’s ground, as they have no idea who they will be sold on to. If City pay Brentford £30 for an away ticket, and it is then sold on for £450, as the Korean guy next to me there last season had paid, does any of that huge uplift get passed on to Brentford? Not a chance I suspect. There are numerous other strands to it all, but hopefully attention on the entire greed culture is not deflected simply by freezing prices for a season, as welcome as that would be.

I am pleased about that, tbh. I am still happy to believe Mansour and Khaldoon are men of their word.

After all, all the information they receive about fan satisfaction comes from Soriano, his army of PR people and consultants and their meaningless surveys which can be formulated and interpreted as required. Last night was probably the first time they have seen any evidence of discontent.

They have a couple of weeks to show me that faith is well-founded. I hope they will.

And I hope they see a strategic interest in a reduction of prices which City are in a much better position to absorb than any other club, and especially United who need fans and revenues to justify their crazy stadium plans ......

Not to take away any of your points, but it was actually £75m of profit in the last 5 years, driven mainly by £416m in player sales.

It has also been a profit of £24m since 2013, and a loss of £474m since the takeover.
