He’s far better when he’s in that central role imo. Really nice lad clearly has been struggling a bit. He needs some rhythm personally think he deserves a bit of a run in that #10 spot with Foden needing a bit of time out of the firing line.

He’s right though offers far more than goals and assists.

Aren't those figures only for League games? Seem to recall Grealish scoring in a couple of Cup competitions. Either way, it's a sorry list and more famine than feast for everyone bar the Norwegian glutton.
It’s because they’re the only games he can get in…against lower league opposition!

However, I was glad to see him have a decent game last night in midfield. A few too many flicks got that position for me, but a solid performance made better by a good finish for his goal.

Jack has more great performances for his team than Messi could ever imagine

I mean just look at the discussion, he steps foot on field it’s an automatic best performance ever.
People have lost objectivity while judging and now some are calling for Pep to be gone so that Jack can play, this is the discourse here.

He comes on field and people have HE GAVE US CONTROL posts ready as drafts

If he were to be put on market I wonder what type of auction will take place among teams to sign player who give 10/10 every match he plays
As far as talking utter bollocks with pure sarcasm goes that’s a great post! I’ve never once said he’s been great for us. His lack of going at fullbacks has drove me mad over the years.

All i was saying was his performances (unlike many others haven’t fallen off a cliff this season but he’s not been picked much. So there must be more to it. Like his style or not what is indisputable is that he’s a class footballer. Was good to see him spend more time centrally last night.

I though you were serious for a moment there.:-)

You show a lack of understanding if you don't believe he gives us a better control of a game. Proof is in the pudding. His performance should be irrelevant anyway. The uneducated who get hard simply over numbers should be happy he walked away with a goal and man of the match. Job done.

In fairness to Pep here he also started Jack at home to Real Madrid and it was all going well till he got injured. His lack of starts isnt just down to not being picked its also down to niggles/injuries. I too feel we are a better side with him in, I would prob start him on the left on Sunday as I think hes better than doku and he probably has too much competition for a central role(but on occasion should also play there).

His workrate off the ball is better than Doku and will be useful vs Scum. I remember a derby a couple of seasons ago when Scum had a breakaway and he tracked back 50 yards to tackle cleanly. 60 secs later, we went up the other end and scored

That was Liverpool that, he made the tackle and went up the other end and assisted Alvarez instantly after. Unless there was a similar one against United. He has to start for me

Played very well last night and deserved the MOTM award. He plays well whenever he does get on the pitch tbh and has done ever since he came (understand I'm in the minority on that though). His performances have never actually been an issue for me (or for Pep). I just don't think his body is capable of sustaining itself for long enough for him to hold down a place. He gave every inch of himself during that treble run and he's been hurting for 18 months ever since. His off the field habits don't help - Sergio and Vinny both had to drastically change their diets and regimes to stave off muscle problems (Aguero: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/11/sergio-aguero-pasta-muscle-injuries-goals ... Vinny: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness/nutrition/vincent-kompany-footballs-health-revolution-hardly-eat-meat) but I don't think Jack is likely to do that. I think this is what's annoyed Pep - the ability is there and his importance to our team is there but I'm not sure Jack has ever felt capable of going that extra step to make himself a genuine great.
