You could see the disappointment in his face when Pep decided to substitute him a couple of weeks back. Absolutely gutted.
 
His legs can no longer do what his wonderful footballing mind wants them to.
 
Worked hard but that’s all. Hasn’t beat a man in their half for 2 seasons but thinks he is prime Messi in ours. 1/3rd of our worst midfield trio in a decade. Painful.

A Ferrari with a million miles on it.

Time to cash in and upgrade on the newer model.
 
Hes great tbh, the issue is he adds nothing forward anymore, when he gets the ball he either plays it sideways or back.

Can't fault his effort at the end of the game though.

Of course. Bernardo only tries 3 yards backward passes, and dribbling back. How can he play badly when he is the most risk-averse player in the PL (by a significant distabce)? When you do what Bernardo do, all your performances will be 4-5/10. Just the perfect example of doing nothing, risking nothing, so they are rarely blame for mistakes.

Yeah he would be useful if we had other midfielders that can actually create.
 
Genuinely mental views in here. He was easily our best player today. Covered so much ground and the only player putting anything resembling a challenge in.

and who the fuck does anything going forward on that pitch today in a blue shirt, at least he ran and tackled

Yeah, such a shame that all that running to put himself between our CBs was done to do another 3 yard pass to the other CB, that the 3 times he tried a forward pass, 2 were misplaced, that the 2 times he dribbled forward, both times he ended up losing the ball, and that he runs so slow that he can barely win the challenges or even get to challenge opposition players.

MY point is that today is all Bernardo's matches for the last year and a half. I barely remember the last time he tried to be offensive or had an interesting idea going forward (even if it didn't work)
