Yesterday's chants were about as funny as the match was entertaining.

What I did notice about the chant yesterday was the use of the word ‘Mum’ by the Rags in the chant.

Not the proper Mancunian, ‘Mam’.

That does my head in. Can be on the concourse watching the early game and the game will go off the screens and there’ll be a minute of notices telling fans what not to do.

‘Don’t do this’ ‘don’t do that’ ‘don’t stand up’ ‘don’t smoke in the toilets’ ‘don’t be racist’ ‘don’t be Islamophobic’ ‘don’t go on the pitch’ ‘don’t throw anything’ ‘don’t don’t don’t’…

Then it’s the same at half time: the teams go off and the announcer comes over the speakers and says all those same ‘DON’Ts’.

I don’t have a big list by my front door to remind me as I’m leaving the house what not to do in life, so I don’t fucking need telling at the football either.
