The Squad planning thread

The Daily mail are saying we’re unlikely to trigger Delap’s buyback and United have made him their top target. I would hope we’d go for him he would give Haaland more rest as we have a very long season ahead. It would be great to not have change our entire setup if Haaland is out.
We're either unlikely or not. Daily Mail hedging bets again.

Don’t be surprised if we’re looking back at this Forest team in a few years and thinking ‘how was he at Forest?’ similar to looking back now at Leicester having Mahrez and Kante. There could be some decent signings to be had from them.

Don't be too surprised to see City go after the domestic market this summer.

PSR will open up opportunities and perhaps more realistic valuations, as opposed to the continent.

Morgan Gibbs-White, Wharton, Branthwaite, Delap, Rodgers, etc.
Christ, what a shit show of names.

Never knew cementing ourselves as a mid table side was the way we’d go this summer.

The homegrown quota will have to addressed.

Walker and Grealish are gone, McAtee will also be sold.

I expect Stones to run down his final year but that may yet depend on a difficult conversation with Pep, if he expects to go to the World Cup next year.

Kovacic and Nunez, gone.

At least one goalkeeper, gone.

A big purge is coming, at least eight.
If we are looking to offload nunes, pep's comments this week won't have helped.

Even with Walker ,Phillips,KDB gone we need to move on Kovacic, Nunes,Gundogan to have spaces in the free list, and Grealish to have a homegrown space,by my counting. So can see us wanting 8 away but acheiving it may be harder.Edit I have 2 Kovacic's

They will just sell there woman's teams..

Realistic ones Wharton and Braithwaite but they'll cost a combined 130m I'd expect and we won't go for delap we will just take the 20% sell on money!

Ederson
[Trafford?]

[Cambiaso?] -- Khusanov -- Dias -- Gvardiol
Akanji -- Reis/Bah -- Ake -- Lewis

Rodri
[Camavinga?]

[Wirtz?] -- Nico G.
Foden -- Grealish/O'Reilly

[Rogers?] -- Haaland -- Marmoush
Bobb -- [Delap?] -- Savinho

Think we have to be ruthless and make sure Walker (past it), Nunes (not good enough), Stones (never fit), Gundogan (past it), Bernardo (past it), Kovacic (past it), McAtee (not good enough), Perrone (not good enough), Phillips (not good enough), and Doku (not good enough) find new clubs.

Time to get hold of some physical players with good technical ability who are ready to step into the team straight away. We were after Cambiaso anyway, we've been linked to Camavinga and Wirtz, and we should be activating Delap's buy-back clause ASAP. Rogers will be tricky but if we pip Villa to Champions League football we could tempt him in.

Very presumptuous. There will be a fee for Grealish and plenty others.

This summer market is about creating squad space and removing high earners so Pep gets what he wants.

Pep telling Kev it was time is worth £400k a week to the wiggle room.

Grealish already has somewhere lined up.
City have £33m book cost of Grealish still outstanding and £31m in wages.

I would amazed if any club is daft enough to take on that investment in a player that’s done next to nothing for 18 months.

Murillo and maybe Gibbs-White if he improves a lot in the future. Selz is a good keeper as well. Other than that I am not so sure there are too many individual talents on the way up there, Nuno has made them better than the sum of their parts.
Aina maybe but he has always been a journeyman with a bit of talent and already 28, I suspect this season is his peak

I think with PSR transfer fees basically becomes "you help us, we help you" similiar to how we have seen already and how the Serie A did their transfers domestically for years. We will see loads more trades in practise, all though listed seperately.

Can see Tottenham, Newcastle or even Villa paying around 30 for Grealish (which I actually still think he is worth) with us giving them a considerably larger fee for Livramento (dare I dream of Gordon?), Rodgers or Kulusevski/Porro/Sarr who all will want CL football (if we even can get there)

I think we will see a lot of wheeling and dealing this summer, I just hope we end up with a better squad. Our domestic dealings in the last 5 years has been horrific

Expiring contracts summer 2025. Wouldn't mind Mitchell at left-back, or if we fix our GK issue with one of Meret or Benitez. We probably will need two anyway

Mitchell isnt out of contract, signed an extension already.
Ah, probably a few others on that list to as well then if Transfermarkt isn't updated. Like always not exactly the best pool of players this time of year

David is another stand-out one. Wouldn't mind Tah if we are worried about our existing bunch of senior centre-backs
