PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

i had the misfortune to sit at a table opposite thingy on a train when he was still a so-called journalist for the local rag.

he was writing flat with pen on paper so i could easily see it, if upside down.

i honestly can't remember the exact player he was writing about,
but it was someone coming back from injury.

i noticed he had written,
"such&such will be chomping at the bit to play."

i simply said "champing" to him out loud and pointed to his error.
thingy had no idea what i was on about and it actually went to print,
so i pointed it out to him again in the comments section.

edit:
thingy is probably reading this and thinking what the fuck is this tosser on about.

well, thingy, horses champ, that's what they do.
they don't chomp.
and when they have a piece of metal in their mouths they champ at it.

RIP Thingy.

The theory was the longer this goes on, the less in favour of City this goes. Stefan makes the good point that outside of football this would run into years not months. So basically we can't read anything into it taking ages lol.

Ideally for both parties, end of season and before main build of transfer window would be great
A question which nobody may be able to answer is how much time does the panel actually spend on this case. Are they locked in a room somewhere in Essex spending 12 hours a day in intense conclave since December or do they meet up for a few beers and a chat over dinner a couple of times a month?

The bill they send reflects the first scenario the reality is the second ha ha

I think the idea that they’re just working on the City case is fanciful in the extreme. They’ll have other arbitrations, possibly court case as well as chairmanships of various organisations and the like.
Murray Rosen, for example, is on the CAS panel and the court of arbitration for art, held in The Hague for starters. (I’m assuming he’s the Chair of the panel, but it’s equally true, whoever the chair is).
I’d imagine they have a set number of days in a month they meet over the City case and carry on with the rest of their lives in the remaining period. They’ll have ongoing commitments both professional and personal no doubt and this is all adding to the time taken so I don’t think anything can be read into how long it takes.
On his chambers pages Rosen says this about timescales.

“Timescales for a piece of work may vary on factors such as my availability, the nature and complexity of the case, the amount of work required, and any deadlines imposed by the client, the other side or the court.”

This will obviously be true of any members of the panel so makes the scheduling even more challenging.

Why does art need arbitration? Is it to decide whether something submitted as art can actually be classed as art or not?

I see the Tragic Twat has posted another of his wank-fuelled fever dreams, claiming we’ve instructed insolvency/restructuring practitioners and arranging meetings with staff over imminent redundancies. Utterly deranged
Sadly, I think he might be right, just walking past the stadium this morning and they are taking the new extension down again, I have made an offer for the sky walkway thing when its dismantled, should look quite good on top of my shed.

I'd say he's quite reliably unstable.
fair point, hes just embarrassing himself at this stage, its social media 101, say outlandish but believable things for engagement, get the engagement and then say more and more outlandish shit because you enjoy the attention, but like he has discovered you will never go broke appealing to the hard of thinking.

The club must employ 100/1000s of people.....do the scumbags that start the rumours realise that there will be many vulnerable people (or some suffering with anxiety etc) on the payroll of the club and some will be susceptible to these kind of rumours.

Rumours such as this are not 'banter' and should be dealt with accordingly.

Turns out that both are correct phrases. Chomping is actually now a more popular way of saying it. Champing is very much on the decline. Thingy may have a point after all.
