TV Series

We're enjoying A Thousand Blows it's eight episodes we're on episode 5. Another great performance from Stephen Graham with the bonus of no scouse accent.

Finished The Bondsman last night.
It's a bit shit to be honest but something to pass the time. They've left it open for another season, if it gets renewed that is.

Anyone else catch the latest episode of Grace on Sunday?

It IMO was a very poor unrealistic storyline set against poor acting.

To think you'd have a football stadium full of fans with a real bomb threat being dealt with by a DCI a Sargent and a couple of other coppers is unbelievable in itself.... stuck with it but wish I hadn't.

Thought I liked John Simm but his character is (and always has been) totally unconvincing in nearly every aspect and Richie Campbells acting is a wooden as I think i've seen for quite a while.

Disappointed.

Two episodes into Mobland. Helen Mirren's attempt at an Irish accent is the worst I've heard since Burt Lancaster's in Zulu Dawn.

Just started Daredevil Born Again and really looking forward to this.

Some pretty ropey CGI in that opening episode though :)

Saw the first episode last night, have a strong feeling its gonna be like any other cockernee gangsta thing I've ever seen. Common sense says stop watching and leave 'Micky 2 fingers' and his facking Manor well alone.

Probably should just watch Snatch again, I know it's gonna be 10x better.

Episode 2 tonight then:-)

Yeah finished this a few days ago.

'Disappointed' cannot explain enough how I felt about it.

It seems to me there must be more than the 'elevator pitch' to get greenlit and make good content. 'Sounds good' and be left alone to write half a poor series can't continue to be the way forward.

The imagination for writing good TV is disappearing very quickly.

Well, it is a Guy Ritchie production, I believe.

Apparently it was quite a late decision (first day of filming) to go with the Irish accents so the leads didn't get any time to practice. Brosnan should be better though as he grew up in Ireland.

Watching Mickey Rourke's entrance into the celeb big brother studios/house was compulsive tv for 5mins or so. I can't work out if he was putting it on, whether he was shitting himself with nerves, or a private doc had fired him up with some special juice to get him moving. Staggering about like he was in the middle of a bender. Not sure that's going to raise his profile.

What a waste

Finished Arthur C Clarke's "Childhood's End" a couple of days ago (what a fucking book that is). So decided to check out the mini-series of it that was aired on the SyFy channel in 2015 (torrents innit).

Not a bad watch at all. Differs from the book (as they always do) but does an ok job of it all on the whole. 6.9/10.

Still thinking about the book, though.
