They are but then Rice seems a likeable lad, especially when getting one over Bellingham.
Think he would have suited us TBF.
I would have gone for Rice too, but we had Rodri and didn't know he would have been out for a full season.

Alongside Rico Lewis, the worst player in the team this season. Rico was from the youth team and is on 1/10 of the salary. For me Jacks been a disgrace for two years now, also The reason he deserves more hate than he gets (I don’t feel good saying that btw) is because there’s people blaming Pep and his football philosophy for how shit this lad has been. When idiots say “pep ruined football” “pep kills individual talent” they always cite Jack as an example of why they believe that. Grealish was a big fish in a small pond and came to City and realised, I’m not technically or statistically as good as these Actual world class players. Except for those 4 months of good form he had from Feb-May 2023. 4 months in 4 years. Peps biggest big money flop. When including time spent, opportunity given and cost of player and damage to coaching reputation.
I can’t think of many games where he’s actually played where i’ve thought he’s anywhere near the worst player on the pitch. If you go off his numbers then yes it looks shite but he rarely looks poor in a game if ever. Technically superb and basically does what he’s always done out wide since he’s been here. Takes the ball very well, keeps it or wins free kicks

It's been a real stop/start season for Grealish, his talent is not in question imo and I hope he is still a City player next season. However, it looks like he has fallen out of favour with Pep, perhaps he has issues off the field which Guardiola is not happy with. If he does leave I wish him well.

He is just shit and gives us nothing. Nothing off field. One of the reasons why we are so dependent on Haaland. Grealish doesn’t score or assist.

Grealish gives the team control, something which Pep craves. He was excellent in the treble winning season, whilst his goal return is poor he retains possession well and his distribution is also very good.

You can get another player for 100k/ week instead of 300k/week to keep possession. There should be someone out there.

FFS let's hope it's not him!!!
Sigh, at this point, I wouldn’t put it past this club to get him, due to the need to meet the English quota. Apparently, Viana is also pushing for him. I just hope we max out at £55M-60M; anything more than that, we should walk away. I doubt we can get Livramento out of Newcastle because he will definitely be very expensive, and that’s if Newcastle are kind enough to even hear us out. Frimpong can add to the quota and is under £40M, but I don’t think we’re interested in him. Branthwaite is too injury-prone and too expensive for his injuries and that is assuming we want another CB. Wharton is too expensive and has no peace, which we actually need; we already have Nico who has no pace.

If we spend 100m on MGW I despair, utter and total madness for a player with one good season in a team playing out of their skins.

Home grown is an issue but FFS we need an elite player in that No10 role.

I doubt we make another Grealish-type move—spending £100M on a player with just one standout season. Surely we’ve learned from that deal. I predict we cap it at £55M-£60M; anything beyond that, we walk away. For £100M, I expect a game-changer—someone consistent, reliable, and impactful. Not an overrated and overprotected player who fails to deliver. Also, I do not think MGW is coming in as a 10, I think as an 8!

Totally agree, the 100m plus has got to be for Wirtz, he would be a game changer , I hope your wrong on all counts about MGW, i hope the 8 is going to be Reijnders, he looks absolute class and has a very high ceiling, getting better with every game and at 65m fairly reasonable.

I assure you, I’m one of Reijnders’ biggest fans in here. I’m genuinely dreading the idea of MGW being picked over Reijnders—if that happens, this club has completely lost the plot. Ideally, MGW comes in as a Bernardo's replacement, and Reijnders fills the Gundogan role. But if the club prioritizes MGW over Reijnders, we’re heading straight down the same path as United.

I am hoping this is wrong;

Now a new report from Sacha Tavolieri for SkySports indicates that Tijjani Reijnders could find a move to Manchester City irresistible. Reijnders believes that he could take his game to another level under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage as per Sacha Tavolieri’s report. Furthermore, Tavolieri reports that AC Milan has set an asking price of £56 million to sell the Dutch international. Tavolieri further reports that Manchester City intend to pay the asking price for the AC Milan midfielder.

Based on Sacha Tavolieri’s new report it appears that the stars are aligning for Manchester City to move for Tijjani Reijnders this summer. The Dutch international would add something different to City’s midfield. Also, Reijnders is only 26 years of age so he is entering the prime years of his career. Manchester City do need to fill that particular age group in their squad. If they could sign Reijnders they’d be adding a player who could also help fill the void left by Kevin De Bruyne’s impending departure. On paper at least City moving for Tijjani Reijnders makes sense on multiple fronts.

Final thoughts."

I’ve been following Sacha closely—I’m well aware of that article and everything he’s said. That was 10 days ago! Still, I really hope Sacha is right about this. I need Reijnders—this club needs Reijnders!
