Basically, the clock re-sets. If you have losses over 150m over 3 years, you will get fined/docked points.

They managed to get away with a 300k fine for seasons 20 , 21 and 22, because Covid wiped out 250m of their gate income, but it could be argued that they still bought Fernandez, Sancho, Amad, Van de Beek, Varrane and Ronaldo, so going over the 150m was actually manageable.

From June this year, they can start spending again, but will most probably end up trying to claw it all back in 2028, if the gamble doesn't pay off. And pretty much every gamble in the last decade has gone tits up.

I don't think the clock re-sets.
Its a rolling 3 years so the 1st year in a 3 year cycle is replaced by year 4 and so on.
I may be reading your quote incorrectly.

The clock doesn’t reset , it’s a rolling 3 year monitoring period

They will have to sell to buy , problem they have is none of their recent big money buys have appreciated in value so would all go down as an accounting loss on disposal

Which only leaves their homegrown players , which is why there are all sorts of stories today about selling Rashford to fund Cunha - problem is no-one is going to pay Rashfords Salary AND a hefty transfer fee , which probably means another subsidised loan

Which is why they have to sell Garnashers.

They also have a 50% sell on fee on Greenwood, if he goes to Spain in the summer.

Saudi would be the only way to get over Rashford salary.

Why does no one say it about these lot? A £70m striker hasn’t worked out, so bung £60m on another.

A £75m and a £85m winger haven’t worked -so bung them out on loan. I remember a negative narrative about us doing this with Cancelo.

I've lost count of the number of times opposition teams lose their best player to injury just in time for playing the rags in a key game.

Be fair now, they lost Rashford, who, apparently 'HIT THE POST' with a shot, yesterday. Swings and roundabouts mate.
