Nah I think there will be a lot more changes than we realise. Also think the board will decide not Pep. Viana being huge in that decision.

Think we need a world class center back to play with either dias/gvardiol and a world class playmaker. Think the squad is quite strong maybe either a left back to push nico into midfield or a midfielder to keep nico at left back. Obviously all dependent on who goes

Let stones and grealish leave with kdb. Thats a seriously strong squad and potential 1st team.
 
Think its been on the cards that Gundo is staying for a while tbh, he'll be 35 and probably his only options would either be turkey or saudi, nothing at city's level, so can see him just running out his contract in 2026 and going to saudi then. It's city's fault for agreeing to that appearance trigger anyway.

I think he's only struggled in certain set ups, and he's still doing the basics, even if the goals have disappeared because he cant get into the box fast enough.

I think Bernardo and Kev go, Kova and Gundo stay this summer. 2 new CM's in. Then in 2026, gundo leaves on a free and kova goes then and we get 2 more cms.

That means 25/26 midfield is: Rodri/Nico Gonzalez/Kovacic/gundo/MGW (or similar)/Wirtz (or similar). With Foden alternating between central and wide and players like rico lewis, Nunes, O reilly able to fill in too.

Hopefully next season we'll have Rodri back to full fitness and Gonzalez up to speed, with O'Reilly being able to fill in in midfield as well which will enable Gundo to play the 'Vieira role', which is probably what he was brought in to do in the first place.

Hard to see which of them go this summer unless we do loan out Reis and/or Echeverri, might have said Ortega for Trafford but can't see that happening now Burnley are up.

Fairly sure Cambiaso will come in for Juve which probably gives more support to the MGW rumours

Echeverri will go on loan, maybe to Sporting? Could be the same for Reis to be honest?

This would be the dream summer. I’d probably rather Porro on the right if he ended up available with Spurs faltering, but other than that, this is my dream summer.
 
The reason for the improvement recently, say since the Bournemouth cup game, arguably since after the January window, which is now starting to come through, we don't invert fullbacks anymore,i.e. O'Reilly and Nunes, who are midfielders, do not get sucked into central midfield, like Lewis did or was instructed to do at the time.
They stay wide stopping the counter attack on the wings and more importantly run when needed, we also drop the attack deeper back, pulling the opposition defense out, perfect for Marmoush, McAt and Haaland to counter behind.
It wouldn't surprise me to see the likes of Cambiaso dropped and Frimpong and Kerkez purchased.
Becuase we have a fuckin genius called PEP, who could change it all again after the summer window,
Like Villa, Forrest won't get pulled out of defense it will take individual genius, Marmoush, Doku and Nunes to break it down.

Going to need a few more than that to leave to fit all those incoming in,you'd need about 8 off the 17 man free list out.Be lucky if there are more than 3 non homegrown players coming in
