Johnny already got that familiar glint in his eye.
Biafra looks like he’s planning a high school massacre.
I think I've heard that before if I remember right Mark Burgess of the Chameleons is in it talking about hitchiking to Huddersfield on Xmas Day 1977 to see the PistolsMight be worth a listen.![]()
Punk, the Pistols and the Provinces - BBC Sounds
The Pistols' played their first and last gig in Yorkshire - what influence did punk have?www.bbc.co.uk
Yes you probably have, it was first broadcast in 2016.I think I've heard that before if I remember right Mark Burgess of the Chameleons is in it talking about hitchiking to Huddersfield on Xmas Day 1977 to see the Pistols
The Huddersfield show was for kids of striking firemenYes you probably have, it was first broadcast in 2016.
Was that part of SPOTS Sex Pistols on Tour? Sure it was for the striking miners.
You are quite right. They were booked to play at the Champness Hall on Drake Street. I sort of remember the fury of the local rag at the time but I would have been way too young to go unless it was a kid's party like Huddersfield. The Huddersfield show was for kids of striking firemen
I think the SPOTS tour was earlier in the year in places like Wolverhampton
I'm pretty sure the Pistols were booked to play in Rochdale around Xmas 77 but it got cancelled
No Generation XI’ve just updated my punk playlist during a quiet spell at work. I know a couple have sneaked in there that aren’t really punk but not to worry. Any suggestions of bands I’ve missed off for the next update?

Got to agree with your sentiments but Iggy had split from the Stooges prior to that gig.I saw Iggy Pop and the Stooges supproted by the Vibrators at the Apollo in 1977, with Mr David Bowie playing keyboards for the Stooges.
It's become one of those shows where everybody says they were there, the reality was the Apollo was only about three quarters full. A fantastic gig mind you.
Oh to be a crazy 18/19 year old with no worries other than paying my mam her board money each month.
Not bad for £17Got this today

Live In The USA 1978: 3CD - Sex Pistols
40 plus years on, the Sex Pistols output from their original creative period together, forged amidst times of poor leadership and economic turmoil, continues to resonate in ways most could never have imagined. Not least those Stateside who witnessed the performances that make up this release. A...store.sexpistolsofficial.com
probably not to everyone's taste
I didn't know/realise that, I've spent the last 40+ years telling everyone I'd see Iggy with the Stoogies. TBF me and my mate only went as we were huge Bowie fans at the time, and with Iggy and Bowie hanging out together in Berlin we thought Bowie might sing some songs but alas he just played keyboards on the side.Got to agree with your sentiments but Iggy had split from the Stooges prior to that gig.
Got my ticket for his return in May!
