Im a big fan of this new 442 system.

Gundogan and Kevin as false 9s, but they drop deep with the 2 CDMs to make the box midfield Pep loves.

The problem with how we made this box before, in the usual 3241 system, is that it was pretty easy to man mark all 4 of the midfielders, and keep the striker isolated against 2 CBs.

This new sort of 2242 system where the wingers become like "wide strikers" and rotate with their fullback on who holds the width is very hard to press.

We saw this with Villa, when they tried to completely press our box midfield, the CBs simply knew in this system we have an extra man somewhere up top or wide, so we played long.

Its that simple, removing the useless 3rd CB in the 3241 for a player higher up, ironically, makes us BETTER defensively (opposite of what the 3rd CB was meant to do) because our midfield players have more space and the long ball is always on if they dont.

Well he plays half of them a fair bit, the other two are young and raw and play in positions Dias and Gvardiol are playing very well .So there are your reasons.As for Pep not a chance he leaves .

I hope not although your he plays half of them a bit is well I'm not sure really :-) it's not currently showing great faith.
