He was on less than a third of the wages and cost half as much.

Terrible signing I agree but Grealish is worse. 6 months form in 4 years.
Can’t actually believe you’re trying to say Grealish is a worse signing than Mendy.

The Grealish having 6 months of form in 4 years thing is a bit of a myth too. It’s a if he went up to KDB levels during that time and has been shite since. The reality was the team clicked during that spell and he was a decent cog in a very well oiled machine that kept getting over the line. He’s rarely played shite since. Just always steady, does what he does very well but then lacks a goal threat or the burst of pace to genuinely terrorise a fullback.

Absolutely insane take tbh. Mendy barely ever looked good for us, Grealish has always looked competent and at times looked un-droppable because of what he brought to the team IMO. Did we over-pay? Yes, but we did that for Mendy, Phillips, Nunes and a number of other players too...par for the course at City. But he's not been a failure.

Did you hear what that absolute cu#t Ryan Giggs said about Grealish, he said if Ferguson was around Grealish would be a great man United player, then Rio Ferdinand said Pep apparently ruined his career. And THATS why Grealish is the worst signing Pep has ever made, number 1 he cost 100m and also because that narrative that is everywhere now of twats who say the great Pep Guardiola ruined joyous football always use Grealish as an example. I wish Pep just came out one day and said Jack Grealish is shite, and he’s not on Mahrez or David Silva level and he needs to fuck off back to Birmingham. Some of these people made it seem like Jack was playing like prime Ronaldinho before he signed for City. He wasn’t even better than Nasri

Its mental. Facts are Grealish was an integral part of the treble winning team. We didnt win it in spite of him, we won it with him as part of a team that operated better than everyone else. Worth every penny for that season alone

Fucking hell.

Never have I see our fanbase turn against a City player since, well, Mahrez.

He's committed, but hardly gets picked, but it's his fault.
He cares about the club, the fans and gets our culture, but he cost £100m, which is his fault.
He's not a striker, but doesn't score 30 goals a season, so it's his fault.
He didn't have the stats when he played for Villa, and has had slightly better at City, but that's his fault.
He was the driving force in the winter of our Treble season, grabbing the club by the scruff of it's neck 'Andy Morrison Style', but he's had a few bad months recently, so our downturn is his fault.
He's won the Premier League x3, FA Cup and Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, for this football club, yet he's 'failed' at City.

Fuck y'all. Viva Jack and if he does leave this summer, i'll be sad to see him go. An honourable, likable, charismatic and characteristic personality that gave this club part of it's soul in the Mansour Era, clearly tormented by some demons yet some of our fanbase want to see the back of him rather that rally round him. I don't know what some Blues want, sometimes. Foden's next, right?

Well said.

He would have looked good at united.

He would have been told to get the ball and express himself and not worry about anything else. He would have looked like an exciting player and he would have won absolutely nothing.

He didn't join them, he came to City to learn from the best, develop his game and win some trophies.

I don't think we've consistently got the best out of him. Whether it's in how we've deployed him on the pitch or how we've supported him off it, he has had his struggles and has clearly fallen out of favour. Without knowing all the details we don't know how much of that lies at his door and how much is on Pep and the club.

When he leaves, it will be as a winner, a member of a record-breakingly successful squad, a talented footballer and a man who has embraced our club and given such a positive impression in his interactions with fans and the media.

He's still got a few years left in him and whether it's with us or (as seems to be likely) elsewhere, I hope he gets his fitness and confidence in order and provides many more incredible moments at a club where he's loved (with the caveat of his successes not coming at our expense, of course).

He wouldn’t have looked good at the rags. Nobody does.

The fans would have disliked the fact he’s not direct and shouted “Attack, attack, attack” at him.

He also wouldn’t fit in to their counter attacking style, lumping as many balls into the box as often as possible.

I know for a fact that if Grealish would’ve played for any other club the last 4 years he would’ve gotten the Antony treatment. Never seen someone getting defended like that for 6 good months, zero scoring threat, being a foul merchant. Life has to be easy when people like you for whatever reasons. The drop off from Sané to Grealish is Crazy

We aren't United fans though, are we. We defend those who've served our club, fought, toiled, worked and seen success along with us. Because to those of us who are long-serving Blues, success is a benefit, not an expectation of our support.

Christ, I can't imagine what you'd have thought of Goater, Kennedy or Benarbia back in the day.

"I know for a fact that" doesn't work when followed by "if"
