Nottingham Forest (N) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Not sure we look a better team, nor am I sure of the statistical comparison, if we rest him it's for easier matches.
Best I've seen us this season was against Newcastle where he created a lot of room that Marmoush benefitted from.
We looked utterly toothless against Real, Liverpool and Scum when he didn't play.
Our recent better form has been due in large part due to a settled back line and O'Reilly's introduction IMO, I reckon Haaland would make us look more potent.
We were also very good against Palace after the first 25 mins

I know what IFAB is. I knew what IFAB was over 50 years ago.

I thought he did flick his hand at the ball (rather than moving it to avoid the ball).
Oh ok. The picture clearly showed IFAB on it but you didn't seem to know where it came from with your comment, hence i told you where it was from for clarity.

Nope, no “flick”. Watch it again. No flick of the hand/arm towards the ball. He tried to block with his body with his arms behind his back making every effort to avoid the handball. kova scuffed the shot and It hit his arm but wasn’t intentional. I was screaming for a pen, was unsure on the current law as its been changed so much and there were a few comments saying “stone wall pen” so i looked it up.

Anyway, great win!!

This is the problem with these idiot rules that are being written these days to try and clarify every single eventuality for VAR. It's impossible.

If the defender stops a shot that is going in with his hand there are two things to look at, iirc.

Was it deliberate? I think the vast majority would accept that he was trying to put his arms behind his back, so not deliberate.

But then, did he make his body unnaturally bigger taking into account.t his movement? I think the vast majority would say so, as he was trying to put his arms out of the way, behind his back but his hand was at least 12 inches from his body.

So he tried to get out of the way, but didn't. Penalty.

But, at the end of the day, it's still all subjective even with all these detailed rules. So, what's the point? Why not just have the old deliberate / not deliberate subjectivity instead? Much easier to understand and follow in the ground.

interesting to hear what you guys think, i didnt think the handball before our goal was a penalty and i'd be pissed if that was given against us, but it seems like most people think it was
Nah, our troubles this season have more reasons. Rodri itself cant be overstated. Constant injuries, Stones, Akanji, Ake, Bobb. Walker out. Grealish and KDB minor injuries but every month or two to make a joke out of gaining any rhytm. KDB is a bit less regular with passes and magic moves, but he got better physically. Its still a place for him to say his nice goodbies last few games.

Most important we got better at the end of the season. With Haaland, Bobb, Akanji, even Rodri soon back + good/very good form of some new players (Omar, Nico, actually you could there O'Reilly as he has exceeded expectations so much), we could really win FA CUP, Clubs World Cup and finish 3rd in the PL.
Second.

Let's hope Pep his staff and even kdb himself noticed yesterday.
Kev is shite at taking corners
Last game he played he was taking corners from both sides time after time throughout the game.
Love CITY Hate CITY’S corners ( when kev's taking them ) CTID

If Jack Grealish's handball was a penalty in the final against utd then this was two penalties and a sending off.
Said this at the time, Jack had his back to it & it flicked a fingernail in what was a muted attacking piece of play, an award I’ve never seen before or since given, what are we now saying ? You can throw your arms behind your back, making your body shape bigger & if it hits a hand oh well, there’s a reason players link their arms & it’s so that doesn’t happen, it’s unfortunate for the lad, but more so for us
