Nottingham Forest (N) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Football fans are weird. Coach goes to a club and wins just about everything there is to win with a style of play and some fans question it when there's a couple of wobbles.
That's what happens when you set the bar as high as Pep does. It happens and we just need to get our heads around it.

Rico's early goal was pivotal, nevertheless fantastic support from the match-day fans and so called tourists who all did City proud. I think those that went decided to make much more of an effort with the singing and noise because we were in a minority. In the build-up in the stadium it was a bit intimidating singing. Forest were drowning us out. But Rico's goal changed that. Fair play to Forest fans. They stayed after the match and I didn't detect any hostility.

Thank you to Pep for his brave team selection. Nice to see the negative football of Villa and Forest lost in the FA Cup semi-finals.

In all the reasons he mentioned as to why we didn’t sell out our allocation,,I noticed Twatterface didn’t mention the ridiculous kick-off time.
That's because he works for the company that set the KO time. I see the time for the final has not been set. Probably going to be 5.30 KO with the last train home at 9pm

It was 3pm last year and it’s set to stay the same as no premier league games are played that day,I’ve booked my train £85 return for the day.

I thought our tactics were spot on and we controlled the game, but we were let down by some sloppy passing which allowed Forest to get into the game and some poor execution in their box which saw good attacking opportunities come to nowt.

In the end they had better chances than we did despite us controlling the game.
Better execution and better players with those tactics and we don’t give the opposition a sniff there. Something we need to be careful of in the final four PL games and the FA Cup final.

Savinho was a very frustrating watch, where’s his spark gone from the Winter? Dias had a poor game, looks like he needs a rest.
But Bernardo and especially Kovačić were top class in midfield.

Onto the final. Can’t wait!

I don’t think Pep was impressed with that second half.

When did we start calling Managers a Coach? It’s always been Manager - seems we’re incorporating some US style naming.

Since the manager relinquished lots of responsibility, such as player transfers, contract negotiations etc
Large clubs now have directors of football for that side which leaves the "manager" more time to coach, hence the job title change to "coach"

Credit to forest fans good rivalry but not hostile.
Credit to our fans for trying to make up for the seats we're unsold.
Credit to mother nature for giving us another great Wembley visit in the sunshine. Apart from Wigan I cant remember getting wet at Wembley.
The menopause is unkind mate.

Hopefully it will be. Seemed to remember that the TV companies still wanted at 5pm even though there was a Manchester team in the final. I reckon they'll still try for a late ko this year

Excellent performance, enjoyed the day out yesterday. I felt it was more a ‘city crowd’ today, and the crowd got behind the side all game. I think our possession game just subdued the Forest support all game. All credit to Rico as he played very well, and Kova was brilliant. Settled back four working really well, hopefully keep this in place for the rest of the season. Josko is so good. I think we are just so fluent at the moment, not having to look for a pivotal striker. Pep looks like he’s reinventing this side again. Hope some of those fans there today, who don’t have ST, get a ticket for the final.

Maybe the traditionalists who wouldn't go to a Wembley semi-final should boycott the final unless it's played at the Kennington Oval?
