FC United thread

You’re right, it was never £30,000 a month, but questions still need asking of why the council are treating one business so favourably & are being so generous with our cash.

Originally the entire loan, interest and capital was due to be repaid by 2024. The Buckateers couldn’t afford that so the council gave them a repayment holiday meaning It was no payments for two years, £30,000 this year, £75,000 next year and £91,000 after that.

The council also paid all the legal costs for the Buckateers, agreed to reduce the interest rate to just 6% (with the chance of that decreasing but never increasing) the council also agreed to back date the 4% interest rate decrease to 2023.
“The option to make over payments without incurring any penalties”

Ha ha ha as if that is ever going to be an option!

I suspect the Council are well aware that they have lost their money but are having to bend over to try to get, at least, some of it back.

Effectively, it's equivalent to a company voluntary arrangement without the formality which would embarrass both parties (as it should)

If this excuse of a football club was a race horse, it would have been put down a few years ago.

I’ve got to know a guy in my local who I had always assumed was diehard scum. Turns out he’s a bucketeer, attends Pallet Park regularly and donates.
He’s a bright bloke, good senior job. I trotted out some of the useful facts posted by contributors on this site. He wouldn’t have any of it and believes that the mini scum remain the modern saviours of football and are on the cusp of something really special.

It’s baffling

The only thing special about this abomination of a football club is how easily they have defrauded MCC out of a huge amount of council tax payers money. Surely, the council officials who have signed off these loans need to be investigated. Misconduct in a public office is a criminal offence.

Just ask him how are they the saviours of football, when their model is clearly not sustainable and the real saviours here are the council - without their million quid loan the vanity project would have sunk years ago. And on the "cusp of something really special"? I presume he means winning the Fenix Trophy for the 3rd time, cementing their mantle of being "Non League European Royalty"

It’s not that surprising if you regularly read their shit. They’ve all been brainwashed & it’s almost like a cult. They’ve fallen out with each other so much over the years & so many of them have walked away from pallet park (In a lot of cases it’s the second time they’ve walked away from a football club!) there’s only literally a handful of members who have remained who question the stays quo & they’re treated like pariahs.

The details are all available (as I’ve screenshot plenty of times on this thread) but so few of them bother reading it, they just bury their heads in the sand and continue in their own little world, donating money everytime the buckets are rattled with a weird sense of superiority that they’re doing things differently and their ownership model is the right way of doing things.

Members of a cult are not able to see beyond the edges of the cult as they are in most cases afraid of admitting that their own stupidity has landed them in the position of vulnerability that they are in.

You only need to look at the cases of Jim Jones or David Koresh to see how these people act.

Or Jurgen Klopp.....

Yes, it's amazing that there are still some FCUM fans who truly believe that they are "sticking it" to the football establishment.
As with many "purists", they turn a blind eye, when it's convenient, to the economics of this charlatan club.
I really enjoy Non League football, but would get seriously p#ssed off with the constant bucket-rattling. Where does all the money go ?
As a bright bloke, you would have thought by now, he would query why they came 17th with the 2nd highest attendance, in their League ?
But, thinking they are on the cusp of something big is the sign of a fantasist...

Is his second name Mitty and first name Walter by any chance?

we were all wrong, they’re not all entitled & deluded pricks, it’s nothing like a cult. One of them pointed out that the council threw them a lifeline & asked how they’re going to start repaying them.

Here’s the response they got from other reasonable co owners. How can their opinion of the councils treatment of them differ so much from ours?

MCC will be lucky to see £3.50p repaid by the bucketeers. I forsee a voluntary company liquidation for this lot with the council left with a big white elephant in Moston.

Given the state of their accounts there is no way of earth they can service the repayment due this year. MCC could provide them with a further payment holiday which is the only option available to avoid scrutiny and embarrassment for both parties.
