The house next door has been sold to a private landlord.
He has filled it with a family who like loud base with music. We have tried the nicely approach.
The council say write it down times and dates and duration.
Mp says nothing he can do take it up with the landlord,he is not. responding to calls.
On Monday i lost the plot and confronted them which is not the way forward.Short of torching the place is there any legal action we can take. Thanks in advance for any proper advice.

I remember in the eighties when a family moved in next to us who announced their 10pm Sunday night arrival by blasting out Wild Boys by Duran Duran at 150 decibels.

Over the next fortnight it was just that one song and it would stop for ten minutes or so, complete silence and then start again. Weird people but we were quickly put on edge, you just couldn’t relax (which would have been a better song tbh!).

But it’s always been the same advice. Record the times and loudness, then report it to the council’s noise nuisance department. If it’s continuous and after 11pm then you could try the police.

If you do engage, try to keep it civil. If you get angry it gives them ammunition for a counter claim unfortunately.

Having been through this you can only do what the council say. I know it's not the answer you want but it's the only.

I use to start work at 5am and the neighbour would play loud music to about 2am. Each morning when leaving for work I would bang on their door, they soon got fed up of me waking them up. I would keep it polite and just say " would you mind keeping the noise down i leave for work at 4;30 "Plus this got more of the neighbours involved to put pressure on them to stop the music.

The problem is lack of sleep can make you behave out of the ordinary.

Do you have details of the landlord? We have private renters on both sides of us. But we fortunately have the landlords’ details. They’ve been pretty responsive when we’ve had issues in the past.

No backing down, you have to destroy the threat, anything less will only enable them.

I know this sounds bit tongue in cheek but it really isn't, there are people in this world who are just put here to irritate and harass it's all they do.

Find the weak spot and fucking scratch at it, scratch at it until they break.

If you can't do that and it's understandable that some people can't for health/age reasons, find somewhere else to live because cunts like this only ever stop if they feel genuinely threatened.

Is the electricity box external to the house ? If so open it up and pull the main incoming fuse. A big pair of insulated pliers is all thats needed to do it safely.

Alternatively fight fire with fire, wait until it all goes quiet and then at 3am play this at full volume with the speakers located in the loft.

The effect can be enhanced by buying you and you significant others black dressing gowns with hoods, marking out a pentagram in the back garden with a few candles at the corners and using good old Etsy to get one of their DIY satanic worship kits.

Have been going through this for the last 10 years, had police round council round they do sweet FA,the nob head next door was filming me gardening and washing my car called him weirdo and re#ard guess who ended up going to court for hate crime..

This is irrelevant and petty but recently we were on holiday in Turkey. We had an early flight home so needed a solid rest. Put the kids to bed and then after a bit of doom scrolling bluemoon I tried to go to bed.

Neighbours must have been on the booze and decided they wanted to listen to music. I'm all down for a party but this **** was playing Lionel Richie on repeat.
I love a bit of Lino but he kept repeating the same songs.
"Hello....."

"Is it me your looking for....."

It was bizarre. After a good two hours of it I lost the plot, went out on the patio and shouted out "fuck off playing lino".
It worked but the damage was done, I was up all night screwing.

My wife and kids thought I was a right lunatic at 4am when we got up to leave.

I gave the twat a taste of his own medicine, put Lino on "all night long" on repeat and blasted it out of my speakers and a had a disco. Prick

Which council area do you live in ??
If it's Manchester I can give you the number of the late night noise team, who will come to your house, witness the problem and then write to the neighbour warning them about their anti- social behaviour.
If they do it again, they are fined by the council, I think it's about £100 for the first offence.
Also you can quote the neighbours
"The Noise Act" 1996 which makes it an offence to play loud music and cause noise pollution between the hours of 11pm - 7am .
The council has an obligation to stop the noise problem and will continue to fine them until it stops.

Makes you wonder why we can't just expedite matters and apply laws to remove the noise making equipment and if that doesn't stop the noise remove the cunts making other peoples lives unbearable.

Lots of talking but no action going on nowadays, the people enforcing these yobs have got a shit task without real back up from the law.

Well Manchester council have been very good in that regard. They managed to sort out what was more or less a weekly night time loud music to it only happening every 12 months or so.
Getting a £100 fine every other week, soon stops these selfish morons from playing late night loud music.

It's a thankless task policing cunts, stiffer laws paddy wagons and hose beatings should make a comeback :)
