Seat Counters - 2024/25

I believe you are probably correct in that he does cares about it; nevertheless, he has given carte blanche to people who do not care, to run the club. We've had empty seats in previous semi-finals, but it hasn't prompted a change in ticketing policy. We'll have to agree to disagree on the fan engagement element I’m afraid.
The Brighton semi was the only other semi where empty seats were clearly obvious - empty blocks covered over. I think Sunday will have shocked the club into action - but what action I do not know. Just my opinion. Fan engagement - I take your point - subjective discussion.

The obsession some fans with tourists is a symptom of the shift in City support from a seasoncard base to match day fans. You call them tourists as if you know their affinity towards City. All you see is a foreigner. At least they went to the game and this was the best atmosphere at Wembley since Yaya Toure and the Man Utd semi-final.

City's problem is that we still lag behind Man Utd and Liverpool in having large numbers of London based blues because it is impossible to travel en masse from Manchester to London. There are a handful of trains, and coaches mean you get back to Manchester at 01:30 hours (without extra time).
One of my son's best mates is from overseas - lifelong blue and goes to a fair few games - in this country to work. It's ignorant to dismiss him as a tourist - he's as much a blue as any other fan. Was going to games on his own when he first arrived - now has a bunch of blues as good friends.

Rewarding fans for attending an unattractive fixture at a stadium we've been to 30+ times is NOT "press ganging fans to attend".

I'd never have a go at anybody for not making the trip, but we should reward fans who do go. Plenty of the young lads who made up the numbers yesterday and sang their hearts out won't even get a sniff at a final ticket. I don't think that's fair on them.
I agree that there has to be an allocation set aside for those who attended on Sunday who aren't season ticket holders. It shouldn't be something daft like 10,000 or more but I wouldn't be against, say, 3000-4000. Personally, I'd have other levels of criteria as well such as non-ST holders who attended the 2 home FA Cup games (against Salford and Plymouth) plus the semi, then 1 home FA Cup game plus the semi, and then just the semi itself. I woudn't give them priority over season ticket holders on the FA Cup scheme or ST holders not on the FA Cup scheme but who still attended some or all of those same FA Cup games but I would give them priority over ST holders not on the FA Cup scheme who didn't attend any FA Cup games

This is probably not the thread for this but I don't see why season card holders NOT on the cup scheme should get priority over citizen members who actually attend fa cup games

There are season card holders not on the cup scheme who still attended FA Cup games - my mate is one - and they should get priority over members who attended FA Cup games but season card holders not on the cup scheme who also didn't attend any FA Cup games definitely should be behind members who attended FA Cup games.

A seasonal cup points scheme perhaps? Give out more points for the smaller games.

The issue with a cup scheme is it's a 'bolt on' to a season ticket. You are committing to at least 19 games in the Premier League in ADDITION to the cup games of said competition of which there could be none.

The only concept that has any mileage in my eyes is a European one. So for instance a Champions League cup scheme for members. You know for a fact you have the 4 home league games in this new format. A potential play off leg making it 5. Then the knockout games are both home and away also. So you at least have 8 games (9 with play off) before a final.

It doesn't work with the domestic cups. They've also scrapped replays so there isn't the chance of that occurring now either. Even if we got every round at home it's only 4 games at home before the semi at Wembley. Whether you think those 4 games have earnt the right to a final ticket over a season ticket holder is subjective. I personally don't as I think the loyalty should be towards watching City games instead of a loyalty just towards a competition. So if somebody has watched more games accumatively through whatever means; be that league, league cup, CL or FA Cup then they are most deserving. If this personal attendance criteria is being brought in it would be better suited to something like this.

I know of people on the cup scheme that are only on it for final tickets and they hope it's an away game each round. Last thing we need is matchday members that are the same. By all means give out more loyalty points for the less glamorous ties like they used to do and give them a seperate window before it goes to a matchday member free for all with final tickets.

In terms of hating the fuckers, yes. But not in terms of wanting to ground-share with them for fuck's sake!
I wasn't suggesting ground-sharing at Old Trafford. I suggested that City might have considered plans for a purpose built stadium in Manchester of 100,000 to be used by both clubs. That's not ideal but it would reduce the damage to City if Man Utd end up with a 100k stadium. It would also solve problems about travelling down to Wembley for big matches.

Yeah should state if non cup scheme season card members attend fa cup games they should also get priority. I have a season card mate who's not on cup scheme and has only attended the wembley finals, baffles me.

That's exactly the same as ground-sharing with them though!

The solution to counter United's proposed new build - which could be decades away by the way, if at all - would've been for City to build our own 100,000 seater stadium next to the current one. It was suggested on here many years ago. We could've had tens of thousands of cheap, affordable tickets, and plenty of room for corporate hospitality, etc. It would've cost a fortune to build but nowhere near as much as it would cost now, and it would've generated a fuck-ton of revenue without pricing out our loyal fanbase.

What's the score with that 18-25 allocation?

I was online trying to get one for my lad and literally all gone within 15 seconds of going on sale

So nowhere near the 1600+ that should have gone on sale. Yet again fans being shafted by the club.
Yeah, because there's no way we have anywhere near 400 people on 32k points plus. Unless there's any restricted view that aren't on sale yet?

That was after the 10am window at about 10:05, so doesn't include approx 135 18-25 tickets or tickets sold in the first window.
I used to qualify for Fulham tickets. Not a prayer I'll get one now. Despite getting every single point available since they were scrapped for away games.
