It's hard to argue with a lot of the opinions about him being ineffective, because honestly, it's a sad truth.

Savio's a big talent — he's faster than Mahrez, and his technique, including his first touch, isn't far off either. And that's a huge compliment, considering Mahrez probably had the best first touch in the world. The real difference right now is the numbers, keeping a cool head when decisions need to be made fast, and to keep composure in the penalty box.

Savio can get there — he's only 21 and clearly super talented. It's his first season, so let's see what the second one brings. He needs to start scoring more goals. If he does, he'll be a top-class player. Definitely worth being patient with him.
 
Gave it away a lot but somebody in the side had to be prepared to try and take on a man. Obviously got to drastically improve his end product but i've no issue with him losing it as often as he did when he's attempting to make something happen.
 
Had those couple of games where he looked the business and then faded away. Ineffective far too much after some good positional play.

Would snap your hand off for Eze and Mbuemo but it won’t happen. They’d both come in a heartbeat too given the opportunity and would massively improve us.

We never know if Pep has a new style/shape he’ll have them playing next season and it might suit them, I doubt it, but we never know.

His finishing is even worse than that of Grealish, Bernardo, Gundogan and Doku. Unbelievable how many brilliant players we have that are almost ineffective in front of goal.

It's one of the reasons we have dropped so many points this season, first half in total control but very little goal threat to take our chances. Need more goals from who ever plays out wide

Could easily win the league with that if the midfield is improved and we get a good fullback. Ok,so Liverpool have someone out wide who scores a stupid amount. We have Haaland who will usually out score Salah whilst they have no decent striker. We’d have Marmoush who would score a decent amount from the left and Doku as a great option to come on and change a game. I’m convinced Savinho’s numbers will improve drastically, simply because i think he’s too talented not to. Then Bobb who could be like a new signing, plus Foden if he can put this season behind him.
 
Hopefully he’s nowhere near the first 11 next year otherwise we haven’t done much strengthening.

Or he improves after a year of settling into a new league at 20-21. Wouldn’t be a big surprise given his obvious talent. Managed about 10 goals last season for Girona and it’s not like he’s struggled in this league to give fullbacks a hard time and get into good positions. Admittedly his finishing has been appalling this season.:)

Other thing over the summer is the creative issue in midfield is solved. If Savinho had a De Bruyne of two seasons ago as well as Foden like he was last year there would have been a lot more opportunities for him to flourish and find him with killer passes. The team hasn’t had that this year and is badly in need of fixing, hopefully the summer transfer window solves it.

Savinho is part of system in the team like everyone else. If the entire thing is broken where it looks to be this season there’s going to less opportunity to get into those situations where he is making bad decisions at the moment. He looks like he’s gone backwards since things clicked into place after Christmas, overall he’s got more assists than what Leroy Sane did in his first season and he was alright for us. He is still only 20 and hopefully will improve, he will have to if Bobb gets back to fitness if he wants to start regularly.

Irrespective of what system you play, the player has to come up with something better than crossing to no one, crossing into the defenders legs and shooting way off target, not forgetting shooting and crossing when the time is right.
If he’s our first choice winger next season, god help us

Some day, I hope we can look back at this thread and realise that a bad season for the team does not mean that players like Lewis, Nunes, Grealish, Foden, Gundogan, Gonzalez, Bernardo, Doku, McAtee, and others, were all utterly shite, not good enough, finished, past it, or never will be.

Absolutely, it's not a coincidence Lewis,Kovacic, Nunes,Doku have all had match winning involvements of late when the TEAM are playing better and with confidence.
