I think you've misread the statement. They've said it twice in the announcement and the second statement is clear:

"and that the majority of the additional GA seating capacity will be held by Season Ticket Members, through the release of new Season Tickets. "

I think the Gold Plus is actually a very good idea and a step in the right detection to combat empty seats. It simply means if you want to have a ticket for all 19 matches you've got to prove you'll go to at least 16 of them first.

However, this will do nothing to combat touts. I would like the club to have a scheme where season ticket holders can buy a ticket off a tout/3rd party website and then report it to the club for a full reimbursement. Then the club should open a dialogue with the original purchaser of the ticket and sue them if necessary for the costs involved. Who would sell a ticket to a tout or 3rd party website if they might lose their ticket and get sued for a few hundred quid? If you can't go or pass on your ticket to a mate sell it back to the club. Any touts with tickets would soon be outed. By sueing them you help fund the scheme.

I agree about the empty seats.
Next season the ground will be a lot more full than it has for the past few because of the conditions the club have put in place for season ticket and flexi holders.

Biggest issue now goes back to the agencies and matchday pricing.
 
The protest and threat of further ones have made the club listen and clearly has empowered those in the club who are on the side of the fans, this is now a powerful tool with the fans gaining more respect inside the club and credit to all those who have been on the forefront Going forward we must ensure that this is maintained and insist that the dialog with the club in future is meaningful, City Matters must meaning something. In light of the dialog and the announcement last night I would vote for the protest tonight to be postponed, not canceled, and this made clear that as a gesture of goodwill but, the fans will hold the club to task in the future

Just like when they said they were always intending never to impose the disabled parking charge on all disabled ST holders. They must think that we were all born yesterday! Fact of the matter is that they've been influenced by fan pressure but they'll never admit that.

I agree that it appears clear but the original plan was for 3000 Flexi Golds so have they definitely upped it to 4000? Or is it 3000+1000 relocations? If it's 4000 new, then how many relocations are they allowing?
 
I’m always suspicious when I see words like “predominantly” and “majority” being used without quoting actual numbers. “Majority” simply means 50% plus one. So, if the capacity of the new stand is (say) 8000 then only 4001 need to be season cards. How many season card holders were relocated due to the construction and will be moved back ? How many existing season card holders will ask to be moved there ? This could easily be more than 4001 so “majority” achieved without a single new season card being issued.

I have a simple question for the Club. If there are 36000 season cards now when the stadium has a capacity of 54,000 (all numbers approximate) how many season cards will there when the capacity is 61,000 ?

And what's wrong with a flexi? If you intend to our want to go to as many matches as possible and hit the threshold of 16 games then you can convert it one year later to a full season ticket, so it's a pathway. If you only go to say 9 matches with it you shouldn't be a season ticket holder, and you get penalised by losing (19-9)*£175/19 = £92. It's hardly a sledgehammer but will influence some to go one way or the other ie commit to go more regularly or give it up and let someone else have it?

How many do you reckon it would've been if there had been no campaigning and no protests? Do you think season ticket prices would've been frozen?

Look, there are clearly some big positives from last night's announcements but several questions still remain. What's happening with match day prices? Because as we saw from the Villa game, a freeze is nowhere near enough. Is the 10 game minimum attendance policy still going ahead? Why do all the new "season tickets" start off as Flexi Gold before you have the chance to turn it into a real season ticket?

What type of season tickets will the 4000 season tickets be? Flexi-Gold? Normal season tickets?

Yes,it does say that. Then it goes on to say that all the new tickets will be Flexi Gold.

It plainly says "4,000 NEW STs". I'd guess that existing STs get the chance to move first as previously and then the new STs get their chance. Not all of the new STs holders will want to be in the North stand anyway, and neither will existing STs want to move there, it doesn't read to me as the North stand or nowhere.

They look to be aiming for 40,500 total STs (if the 36,000 figure is correct).

Exactly.

No match day ticket price reductions.
No new normal season tickets.
The Flexi-Gold scam charge stays in place.
The 10 game must attend rule which wasn't discussed with the City Matters Reps stays in place.

As long as VAR persists, the costs will only go up, because it's not just the up front costs, it's the maintaining of the system, and the future expansion of the system. What happens when they start demanding more accuracy, that chip-less SAOT is too inaccurate. What happens if the PL strikes a deal with Adidas. That's gonna cost a ton of more money. Who do you think is gonna pay for that? We already have hugely increased costs for not just the technology but for all the additional "Jobs" of the VARs throughout the PL that fans have to pay for.

We need to understand this is a growing monster. It's only going to get more expensive and those pushing it are going to need help from all the clubs that are using it to pay for it. It's a nightmare. We really need to take a stand now before it becomes an even bigger problem.
