As long as VAR persists, the costs will only go up, because it's not just the up front costs, it's the maintaining of the system, and the future expansion of the system. What happens when they start demanding more accuracy, that chip-less SAOT is too inaccurate. What happens if the PL strikes a deal with Adidas. That's gonna cost a ton of more money. Who do you think is gonna pay for that? We already have hugely increased costs for not just the technology but for all the additional "Jobs" of the VARs throughout the PL that fans have to pay for.I will never be comfortable with match day prices as high as they are currently. They’re turning away local Blues who might choose to attend on the day and the future generations.
We need to understand this is a growing monster. It's only going to get more expensive and those pushing it are going to need help from all the clubs that are using it to pay for it. It's a nightmare. We really need to take a stand now before it becomes an even bigger problem.
