General Videogame Thread

Another one enjoying Expedition 33 here. I love turn-based games so was really looking forward to it anyway and it hasn't disappointed. A masterpiece indeed.

I grew up playing turned based RPGs, looks mad seeing a modern new take on the genre. Not really playing anything but Mechabellum atm so might buy it.
You won’t regret it. It’s special. Honestly games like this are so rare. Everything about it is just immaculate. The story hooks you and surprises you regularly, the art direction is stunning, the combat is incredible - turn based with real-time, active elements to it that mean you cannot be anything other than fully engaged with it. Some turn based combat systems have you selecting an option from a list and then just watching it happen. But in Expedition 33 there is a timing to it, a rhythm. It’s like if Sekiro was turn based, it’s amazing. And the way each character plays differently yet is able to combine and set up the others for big attacks. Then there’s the writing which is superbly done. And that great writing is then voice acted perfectly, to industry leading standards. Then the music, my god the music. Might be the best I’ve ever heard in a game. Put it all together and it’s an all-time great, 10/10 masterpiece that you won’t forget any time soon. Made by a studio of just 30 devs too, their first game. It’s actually insane what they’ve achieved.

They are pure trash aren’t they. I paid 60 for a new one only 3 months ago and it’s already unusable due to the drift. Outrageously bad quality for the money they charge.
Duel Edge is the way to go mate. A little expensive but soon as you get stick drift you can just replace the analogue stick itself :-)

2 years I've had mine and replaced only 1 stick at £20

My exact reaction when I read it on X. Those knobs at take two have been saying for months it’s on track and out of nowhere it’s delayed by more than a year!

Will be nearly 13 years since the last one. Might end up with Max Payne 1 and 2 remastered first, I won't complain if that happens.

Gta6 delay into next year was as inevitable as a dipper playing the victim. Surely can't be many that was still genuinely thinking it was coming this year. Expect a second delay into September 2026 in the future

The may 26th date is very generous to others because there's been a lot of games that have pushed their games into q1 of 2026 that could have been destroyed had they decided to go with that release window.

There will now be a scramble to announce release dates for games in Q4 this year, Christmas buzz is up for grabs now.

I wonder if the PC version will come out simultaneously, or will we have to wait even longer?

Deffo wait.

I reckon it'll be something like this:

Release 1 (2026) - PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S
Release 2 (2027) - PC
Release 3 (2028/2029) - PS6, New Xbox

Don't think we'll see a Switch 2 release.

I wouldn't definitely discount a Switch 2 release, but it would have to be digital only.

Wouldn't surprise me at this point if it turns into a PS6 release.

It will 100% be on ps6 but no chance it skips ps5. Too big of an install base to leave all that money on the table. They released gta 5 on ps3,4 and 5, gta6 will get similarly multiple releases.
That's a decent point. And with graphical diminishing returns as they are, I doubt it would look that different on a new system anyway.

Beautiful game, only played for around 3 or 4 hours it is stunning with the music especially. Storyline seems great too looking forward to finishing it.
