The Squad planning thread

Choosing Akanji to be on the bench ahead of Khusanov & Reis tells you that Pep still not willing to trust them even as a back up players.
I was looking back at some of the quotes from December and Guardiola insisting all he wanted was his players back from the start of the season, not new players. The new signings arrived and saw us through a few games, but every point now is a prisoner and he’ll understandably revert to those he completely trusts, including Akanji.

The more interesting question is how we cope next season when more players return and more signings arrive, particularly if fewer stalwarts leave than has been imagined. How does he adapt to keep more of these players involved so that we are firing on all cylinders come March/April/May?

If people don't leave there will be no replacements so won't be much of an issue.

Remember that the players we bought were intended to be Summer recruits.
Games that they have played so far are somewhat of a bonus, and only because of injuries to others.
Next season is when they were scheduled to be with us.

Was a joke.
Guy in here a few years back was adamant that he had signed for city and it was all signed and sealed.
Few weeks later he was announced at wolves.
Tolmie said he had been round the training ground etc, we just decided against it iirc.
